“FUBAR” is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s action-packed start in the series world. But without “The Last of Us” star Pedro Pascal, the Netflix series would not have become what we have been enjoying since May 25, 2023.
- In the Netflix series “FUBAR,” action star Arnold Schwarzenegger takes on a series lead role for the first time.
- Arnie plays Luke Brunner, who goes on a dangerous CIS mission with his daughter.
- In the process, he meets arms dealer Boro Polonia, whose character was inspired by actor Pedro Pascal.
Inspiration comes in all shapes and colors and sometimes it looks like Pedro Pascal. For Netflix’s new action series “FUBAR,” lead actor Gabriel Luna (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) drew inspiration from fellow “The Last of Us” actor Pascal to bring his character Boro Polonia to life.
In an interview at the premiere party of “FUBAR,” Luna revealed that he took inspiration from Pedro Pascal’s character Javi Gutierrez from the movie “Massive Talent” when he created the character Boro.
The actor goes on to say that Pascal was delighted when he heard he could help. The two actors played brothers Joel and Tommy in the HBO series “The Last of Us,” who lost sight of each other during the mushroom epidemic. Since then, Luna and Pascal kept in touch.
While Pedro Pascal realized his dream of working with Nicolas Cage in “Massive Talent,” Gabriel Luna once again met action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger in “FUBAR.” Both already played side by side in “Terminator: Dark Fate”.
Instead of the T-800, Arnie plays retired CIA agent Luke Brunner in “FUBAR”. His retirement is short-lived, however, and Luke is sent on another mission – together with another agent who turns out to be his daughter. For years, both worked for the Secret Service undetected by the other.
Together, the father-daughter team embarks on a dangerous mission during which they meet Luna’s character, a powerful arms dealer named Boro Polonia, who is wanted by the CIA.
Just as in “Terminator,” Gabriel Luna once again plays the antagonist who battles Arnold Schwarzenegger in “FUBAR.”
