Yellowjackets Season 2: Release date
Since mid-December 2021, it has been certain that “Yellowjackets” will return to the US channel Showtime with a second season. Now a start date for the new episodes has finally been announced.
Yellowjackets Season 2 will premiere on Sunday, March 26, 2022, at 9 PM ET/PT. That means we only have a little over two months before we see the next installment of the Emmy-Nominated series.
Yellowjackets Season 2: Trailer
Fitting for Friday the 13th, the channel Showtime released a new teaser trailer for the second season of “Yellowjackets”, in which Elijah Wood makes his first appearance.
With the announcement of the start date of season 2, a first trailer for it was released by Paramount+.
With the atmospheric video, even more drama is predicted than we already experienced in the first season. In doing so, we are also in season 2 both in the past and in the present and experience how the footballer in both times through their problems and conflicts beat.
In doing so, the second season once again shows that the past has never really passed and that what began in the wilderness is far from over.
Yellowjackets season 2: plot
In the season 1 finale, Misty, Taissa and Natalie help Shauna cover up Adam’s murder in the present, while their teenage counterparts deal with their actions during the “Doomcoming” party.
The adult Yellowjackets attend their 25th anniversary homecoming party. Taissa’s partner Simone (Rukiya Bernard) discovers a bizarre shrine in her basement and Misty lets her captive, Jessica Roberts (Rekha Sharma), go; but prepares for what appears to be an accidental overdose by spiking the woman’s cigarettes with fentanyl.
Taissa also learns that she won the election, Jackie dies of an overdose, and Natalie’s suicide attempt in the present is prevented by an unknown person who kidnaps her.
Finally, Natalie’s contact from the bank calls and leaves a message explaining that Lottie was the one who emptied Travis’ bank account, suggesting that she also survived in the present and probably had something to do with Travis’ death.
So, in season 2, we will find out if the women get away with Adam’s murder. Also, what Taissa’s shrine is all about and if Jessica overdoses will be revealed. We will also learn who kidnapped Natalie and what Lottie has to do with Travis’ death.
Yellowjackets season 2: cast
For the new season, most of the main characters will return. This means that Melanie Lynskey (Shauna), Juliette Lewis (Nat), Christina Ricci (Misty) and Tawny Cypress (Taissa) will be back. Shauna’s husband Jeff (Warren Kole) is also expected to return.
In addition, the teenage versions of the main characters are back. Among them are Misty (Samantha Hanratty), Nat (Sophie Thatcher), Shauna (Sophie Nelisse) and Tai (Jasmin Savoy Brown). In Season 2, we can also expect to see Lottie (Courtney Eaton) and Van (Liv Hewson).
Also joining the cast are Steven Krueger and Kevin Alves. However, after the events of the season finale, Jackie (Ella Purnell) is not expected to return, except in flashbacks.
New to the cast as of Season 2 are Lauren Ambrose (“Servant”), as the adult version of Vanessa “Van” Palmer, Simone Kessell (“Obi-Wan Kenobi”), as the adult Lottie and guest star Elijah Wood (“The Lord of the Rings”), who plays a dedicated detective.
