Tulsa King, the hit crime drama series starring Sylvester Stallone as a New York mobster exiled to Oklahoma? You’re probably eager to find out what’s next for Dwight “The General” Manfredi and his crew of misfits. Well, you’re in luck, because we have all the latest news and updates on Tulsa King season 2 right here!

Tulsa King Season 2 Plot: What’s Next?

Tulsa King Season 2 Plot
Paramount+

Tulsa King follows the adventures of Dwight Manfredi, a former mafia capo who is sent to Tulsa by his boss after serving 25 years in prison. There, he has to start from scratch and build a new criminal empire with the help of some unlikely allies, such as a former weed dealer, a local cop, and a casino owner. Along the way, he faces various challenges and enemies, such as rival gangs, corrupt politicians, and his own past.

The first season ended with a cliffhanger, as Dwight was confronted by his old boss Tony (Domenick Lombardozzi), who arrived in Tulsa with a team of hitmen to kill him. Dwight managed to escape with the help of his loyal friend Bodhi (Martin Starr), but not before Tony revealed that he was the one who set him up and sent him to prison 25 years ago. Tony also threatened to harm Dwight’s daughter Gina (Andrea Savage), who lives in New York and works as a journalist.

So, what can we expect from season 2? Well, according to Stallone himself, the second season will be “even more intense” than the first one. He told Parade that he is looking forward to exploring Dwight’s character more deeply and showing his “human side”. He also hinted that there will be some surprises and twists along the way.

“I think we’re going to see more of his human side, his vulnerability, his flaws,” Stallone said. “He’s not a superhero. He’s a guy who’s trying to survive in a very hostile environment. And he’s going to make some mistakes. He’s going to have some regrets. He’s going to have some triumphs. He’s going to have some losses. And he’s going to have some surprises.”

Tulsa King Season 2 Cast: Who’s In It?

Tulsa King Season 2 Cast
Paramount+

The official cast for season 2 has not been announced yet, but we can assume that most of the main actors from season 1 will reprise their roles, unless something drastic happens in the plot. That means we can expect to see:

  • Sylvester Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi
  • Martin Starr as Bodhi
  • Max Casella as Manny
  • Jay Will as Detective James
  • A.C. Peterson as Sheriff Roy
  • Garrett Hedlund as Billy
  • Dana Delany as Mary

There are also some new faces joining the cast for season 2, according to various reports. These include:

  • Harrison Ford as Frank Sinatra
  • Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II
  • Dwayne Johnson as The Rock

OK, we’re kidding about those last three. But wouldn’t it be awesome if they were true? In any case, we’ll update this section as soon as we have more confirmed information about the cast.

Will There Be Tulsa King Season 2?

Yes! Tulsa King season 2 was officially renewed by Paramount+ on November 30, 2022, after only three episodes of season 1 had aired. The show was a huge success for the streaming service, breaking records and becoming the No. 1 new series of the year.

“It shattered records, driving us to our biggest new sign-up day in history—which is why we instantly greenlit season two,” said Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios.

Tulsa King Season 2 Release Date: Speculation!

Tulsa King Season 2 Release Date

The premiere date for Tulsa King season 2 has not been revealed yet, but we can make some educated guesses based on the production schedule and the release pattern of season 1.

Season 1 started filming in July 2022 and wrapped up in October 2022. The first episode premiered on November 13, 2022, and the last episode aired on January 9, 2023.

If season 2 follows a similar timeline, we can expect it to start filming sometime in mid-2023 and finish by late 2023. That would mean that the first episode could premiere in early 2024, possibly around February or March.

However, there are some factors that could delay or affect the production and release of season 2. One of them is the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike, which has impacted many TV shows and movies in the US. Stallone himself acknowledged that the strike is affecting the writing of season 2, and expressed his support for the writers.

“It’s definitely affecting work because we can’t move forward with a lot of projects, especially Tulsa King,” he told Newsweek. “But I think it’s changed so much that the writers do have a serious gripe.”

Another factor is the departure of Terence Winter, the co-creator and showrunner of season 1, who left the show due to creative differences. His replacement has not been announced yet, and it’s unclear how his exit will affect the direction and quality of season 2.

As always, we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more official news and updates on the release date of Tulsa King season 2.
