Tulsa King Season 2: Is A Long Time Coming - Sylvester Stallone Supports Hollywood Writers' Strike

“Tulsa King” became a massive hit on Paramount+ due to the participation of Sylvester Stallone and “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan. While the series started in the U.S. as early as November 2022.

Now, of course, fans are waiting for the start of Tulsa King season 2, which was ordered by Paramount+ shortly after the first episode started. Since then, several months have passed, so the new episodes should surely start soon on Paramount+, right? No way!

Tulsa King Season 2: Writers’ strike ≠ series time

Tulsa King Season 2: Is A Long Time Coming - Sylvester Stallone Supports Hollywood Writers' Strike

Due to the writers’ strike in Hollywood, many productions are currently at a standstill, including “Tulsa King”. Not only can no new scripts be written at the moment, but spontaneous adjustments on the set are also impossible. This is extremely annoying for film studios, but many movie stars, including Stallone, are backing the striking writers.

[The strike] is definitely having an impact on work because we’re not moving forward with a lot of projects, especially “Tulsa King.” But I think so much has changed that the writers have a serious grievance. They’re complaining that things have changed. There’s not enough work to keep all these writers going. And then they live under this cloud of artificial intelligence. It’s a very scary time to be a writer. On our show [“Tulsa King”], they work on eight episodes, and then they’re done, and that’s it. You ask yourself, “What am I going to live on for the rest of the year?”. So I understand their plight.

Sylvester Stallone in Newsweek

Stallone himself has written 40 screenplays in his long career and described the work as “the hardest part of the process,” so he can understand the writers’ desire for fair compensation.

Since it is not yet possible to say how long the writers’ strike will last, Tulsa King Season 2 will be postponed indefinitely. Before the year 2024 we will not get new stories from Dwight “The General” Manfredi on Paramount+.
