Since winter 2021, it has already been clear that Tokyo Revengers will receive a sequel (Tokyo Revengers Season 2). Meanwhile, the start date of the 2nd season is also known.
Tokyo Revengers was one of the big anime surprises of the last year. Shortly after its TV launch, the action series was able to win over numerous fans. No wonder that in December 2021 a Tokyo Revengers 2nd season was announced, which continues the plot. When it will start is now also clear.
Tokyo Revengers Season 2: Release date in early 2023
Fans still have to be a little patient for the new episodes. As the official Twitter account of the anime adaptation recently announced, the sequel will run on Japanese television from January 2023. There is no concrete start date yet, but a teaser has been released which you can watch below.
Unfortunately, the one-minute video reveals little about the content of Tokyo Revengers Season 2 and shows mostly manga images. What is certain, however, is that the drawn template will continue to be adapted. Specifically, the creators implement the “Christmas Showdown” arc, which begins from the 92nd chapter of the manga*.
The production is again taken over by the studio Liden Films. The film is directed by Kouichi Hatsumi, while Yasuyuki Mutou writes the screenplay again. The narrator of Draken will be Masaya Fukunishi this time, replacing Tatsuhisa Suzuki from the first season.

Tokyo Revengers: Action
Tokyo Revengers is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ken Wakui. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since March 2017. An anime television series adaptation by Liden Films aired from April to September 2021. Tokyo Revengers Season 2 is set to premiere in January 2023.
Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of middle school was the highest point in his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he could count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago. Today, he’s a nobody: a washed-up nonentity made fun of by children and always forced to apologize to his younger boss. A sudden news report on the Tokyo Manji Gang’s cruel murder of the only girlfriend he ever had alongside her brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends his pitiful life for good, Takemichi flashes back to that same day twelve years ago, when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana.
After being forced to relive the very same day that began his downward spiral, Takemichi meets Hinata’s younger brother. Without thinking, he admits to his seeming death before flashing back to the past. Takemichi urges him to protect his sister before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he isn’t dead. Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems as though Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Given the chance to prevent his ex-girlfriend’s tragic death at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.
