The Witcher’s spin-off “Blood Origin” will soon be launched. Now a new teaser has been released for the new Netflix series, which takes us into the past of the mysterious Witcher continent.
Just in time for Christmas, on December 25, 2022, the Witcher spin-off “Blood Origin” will start. This comes but without Witcher star Henry Cavill, but tells with Michelle Yeoh, among others, a story that takes place millennia before Geralt’s adventures.
Only 4 episodes await us in “Blood Origin”. But according to the latest teaser, these promise exciting action and strong characters. A conflict between different parties is brewing and Michelle Yeoh’s character Scian seems to be at the center of it.
A new magical, brutal world
Now, through the new teaser, we can finally see more of the world in which “Blood Origin” is set long before the events of “The Witcher.” Elves seem to still have the power here and rule the land and its population with the help of magic.
You also see a central element of the series, the Sphere Conjunction. This was responsible for the creation of the first sorcerers and the emergence of the monsters. Apparently, it also puts different factions at war with each other in Blood Origin. It will be exciting to see how the series will explain this magical phenomenon from Andrzej Sapkowski’s books.
Things get neat and tidy when elves, dwarves and humans clash. The vast landscapes and high elven cities reveal that the world is still young and industrialization and urbanization due to the invasion of humans has not yet progressed that far.
On December 25, 2022, we will learn how showrunner Declan De Barra, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and their team will credibly and successfully implement a new fantasy series in a familiar franchise and universe.
The Witcher: Blood Origin Release date

The two main characters are Fjall and Éile. Fjall is characterized by physical strength and is also described as “raw, daredevil and impulsive”. Éile comes from another elven clan that uses mainly knives as weapons.
Laurence O’Fuarain (“Vikings” and “Game of Thrones”) will portray the character Fjall in “The Witcher: Blood Origin.” Sophia Monique Brown has been confirmed for the role of Éile!
Actress Ozioma Whenu will also be part of the Witcher prequel. The young actress will play the role of Níamh. This is the older sister of the main character Éile (Sophia Brown).
Jacob Collins-Levy is confirmed as Captain Eredin Bréacc Glas. Fans of the video games are familiar with the character as the leader of the villainous Wild Hunt.
