The Umbrella Academy is a superhero series of a different kind. In contrast to the family-friendly Marvel approach or the extremely brutal The Boys on Amazon Prime, Netflix offers a wacky series. Still, it also hits serious tones – the perfect mix.
The gifted family, which is at the center of the plot – consisting of Allison, Klaus, Diego, Viktor, Ben, Luther, and Five – is also a colorful mixture. So far, she has been allowed to do a lot in three seasons on Netflix.

The Umbrella Academy Season 4: Release date
Currently, there is no confirmation from Netflix that a fourth season of “The Umbrella Academy” will come so, a release date is also not available.
However, we already know that showrunner Steve Blackman has planned the plot for at least four seasons in mind. Should Netflix not order more episodes after that, he would let the series culminate in a “great ending,” as he revealed to Newsweek.
The only thing that is certain now is that Blackman will probably produce for Netflix until 2024 – so enough time to implement the fourth season by then? He would love to go further and produce up to seven seasons of The Umbrella Academy – and that’s what fans would undoubtedly want!
The Umbrella Academy Season 4: What’s next?

At the beginning of season 4, it will probably be about how the members of the Umbrella Academy can regain their powers. At the end of the third season, these were taken away from them, which should be a significant cut in the lives of the young heroes.
Especially Klaus will probably have to struggle with this. Actor Robert Sheehan already gave a first glimpse of the development of his character. After Klaus had changed in season 3 instead to the positive, we will probably experience some relapses on his part again in the new episodes.
“You can be damn sure that at the beginning of the fourth season – if we hopefully get one – he will return to this very destructive, self-pitying way,” Sheehan told The Wrap magazine. Without powers and Ben by his side, he will have to find out who he is.

In addition, it was already planned for the third season of the series that part of the plot should take place in Japan. This section comes directly from the graphic novel on which the rest of the series is based.
Due to the pandemic, however, this plan could not be implemented – maybe we will see a similar scenario in season 4 instead?
The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Cast
In season 4, the members of the Umbrella Academy will appear again. A reunion with Ben (Justin H. Min), Luther (Tom Hopper), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Diego (David Castañeda), and Five (Aidan Gallagher) and Elliot Page (Viktor Hargreeves) is all but inevitable.
Whether we will also see Colm Feore as Sir Reginald Hargreeves again is not so certain after the end of the last season. Without him, the series would need a new antagonist. Presumably, Ritu Arya will be back as Lila in season 4.
Apart from that, there is no information about the cast yet. We will supplement our overview accordingly as soon as there is something new about this or the other points.
