The Santa Clauses returns to Disney+ with Season 2. In addition to lead actor Tim Allen as Santa, the upcoming episodes will feature several new faces. Let’s find out about The Santa Clauses Season 2!

With the series “The Santa Clauses” Tim Allen celebrated his great return in November 2023 on the streaming service Disney+ in his parade role as Scott Calvin aka Santa Clauses. The Christmas series with great nostalgia factor was so well received by viewers that it was extended by Disney early for a 2nd season. Now, in addition to Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell, further cast members of the sequel have been announced with Eric Stonestreet and Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.
Is there a start date for “The Santa Clauses” season 2?
It is currently unknown when season 2 of “The Santa Clauses” will be released. However, we assume that the new episodes will probably be released again in the run-up to Christmas. Possibly we can already look forward to a reunion for the next Christmas in 2023.
The Santa Clauses Season 2: Storyline
At this point, there are still no hints about a plot of the 2nd season. However, season 1 has ended with Scott Calvin and his family managing to stop Simon Choksi in time to save Christmas. Scott thus returns from retirement and once again swings into his Santa cape.
While Scott has thus failed in his quest to find a worthy successor, he has at the same time learned that he can certainly combine his role as a husband and family man with his duties as Santa. In season 2, the search for a suitable successor thus continues.
It is possible that Scott’s own son, Buddy, is now a possible candidate, as it has been revealed that Scott was chosen as the first human Santa Claus precisely so that he could pass on his legacy to his own offspring. Whether Buddy will really become the next Santa Claus, we will then possibly find out in season 2.
The Santa Clauses Season 2: Production
With the end of season 1, Disney has already announced the extension in season 2. The official Instagram account of the series also confirmed the happy news with a short video. Since the series has apparently been well received by fans, everything will probably remain the same in terms of production, as long as none of those involved says goodbye to the production.
In addition to Allen, who not only stars but also serves as executive producer, Jack Burditt will then also be back as showrunner. Kevin Hench, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, Jason Winer and Jon Radler may also return as producers.
The Santa Clauses Season 2: Casting
So far, it can be assumed that we will see most of the stars of the 1st season again. At least it is already confirmed that both Tim Allen will return in his leading role as Santa/Scott Calvin and Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Santa/Carol.
Whether David Krumholtz as the elf Bernard or Kal Penn as the ambitious game inventor Simon Choksi will also return remains to be seen.
We will see “Modern Family” actor Eric Stonestreet for the first time. In the second season, he will take on a rather unusual role for the otherwise loving comedian, as he will slip into the role of the villain and Santa resister Magnus Antas.
Magnus Anta, also known as “Mad Santa,” held the reins of the Christmas sleigh back in the 14th century and now has his mind set on reclaiming the North Pole. Scott will thus probably have to defend his Santa throne against an adversary once again.
Magnus Anta is supported in his evil machinations by the cunning and ruthless gnome Olga. The role is played by young actress Marta Kessler, who most recently starred in the Disney+ series “The Secret Benedict Society,” among others.
US comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias has now been announced as another new cast member. Inglesias is known for his stand-up comedy shows, which are also part of the Netflix program. In the series, he will now embody the character Kris Kringle.
This character is a true Christmas enthusiast and entertains a Christmas theme park. Despite his warm and good-natured nature, however, business is not particularly good and so Kringle must either come up with a good idea quickly or possibly realize that his love for the wintry festivities might not be enough.
