The Marvels Cast: Who is in?
The Marvels is directed by Candyman director Nia DaCosta. The team film counts three superheroines among its main characters:
- Brie Larson as Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel
- Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel
- Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau / Photon
Kamala Khan is a young mutant from Jersey City who Marvel fans have only seen in the Ms. Marvel series. Monica Rambeau, on the other hand, was already seen in the first Captain Marvel movie as a child and appeared as an adult woman in the series WandaVision. In addition, Samuel L. Jackson will be seen one more time as Nick Fury.
Kamala’s family members from her solo series will also be in The Marvels. These include her mother Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff), her father Yusuf (Mohan Kapoor) and her brother Aamir (Saagar Shaikh). Beyond that, however, there are a few new names in the cast:
- Zawe Ashton as Kree villain Dar-Benn
- Seo Joon Park in a yet unknown role
The Marvels Story: The plot of The Marvels follows 3 MCU series
The movie will directly follow the post-credit scene of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, in which the young heroine Kamala Khan and her idol Carol Danvers suddenly switched places. In fact, The Marvels comes up with a body-swapping twist.
S.A.B.E.R. agent Captain Rambeau, who works for Nick Fury on a space station, will also be affected by the strange phenomenon. Every time Kamala Khan, Carol Davers and Monica Rambeau use their powers, they unexpectedly switch places.
The Marvels promises to be an extremely quirky MCU blockbuster. In addition to the body-swapping concept, the film will also include musical elements.
To prepare for The Marvels, you should have seen three MCU series. Not only does the film tie into the events from WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, but thanks to Nick Fury’s return, it also ties into the Marvel series Secret Invasion, which launches June 21, 2023 on Disney+.
