In The Mandalorian Season 3, Moff Gideon has not yet returned. However, during episode 3, there is talk about his whereabouts. What happened to the “Star Wars” villain?

  • At the end of “The Mandalorian” season 2, Moff Gideon was arrested by the New Republic.
  • In The Mandalorian season 3, actor Giancarlo Esposito will return as Moff Gideon. So far he has been conspicuous by his absence.
  • In the third episode of The Mandalorian season 3, Moff Gideon’s fate is discussed. What has happened to him since the finale of season 2?

Moff Gideon is the big villain of the first two “The Mandalorian” seasons, in the third season the scoundrel played by Giancarlo Esposito so far shines with absence. In episode 3 of The Mandalorian season 3, Moff Gideon was now mentioned when Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi) meets more ex-imperialists at the Amnesty shelter.

After the end of “The Mandalorian” season 2, Moff Gideon was captured by the New Republic. Now the speculations start. Is he still in custody? Has he escaped? There is also the theory that the New Republic “treated” him with a mind abuser.

That even the New Republic does not shy away from such a device was shown in the third episode, when Dr. Pershing was “treated” by a “humane” version of the device. And such an important Imperial officer as Moff Gideon is certainly not handled with kid gloves.

It is also unlikely that Gideon will undergo the same rehabilitation program as the other ex-Imperials. So what happened to Moff Gideon?

Unfortunately, the question cannot be answered unequivocally. There is currently no more info than that from the series. The blacksmith (Emily Swallow) has let slip that Moff Gideon may have escaped. Where she gets this information from or if she simply doesn’t believe that Moff Gideon would die in a prison is unclear.

What we do know, however, is that Moff Gideon will return in “The Mandalroian” season 3. This has already been confirmed by actor Giancarlo Esposito. So we remain excited. New episodes appear weekly in the Disney+ streaming program.
