The adventures of flight attendant and part-time CIA agent Cassie continue to enjoy great popularity. Will HBO’s “The Flight Attendant” get a third season?

  • On May 26, 2022, the US streaming service HBO Max aired the final episode (“Backwards And Forwards”) of season 2 “The Flight Attendant”.
  • In Some countries, the series runs on Amazon Prime Video.
  • Leading actress Kaley Cuoco now gives little hope for an upcoming 3rd season in an interview.

The second season of “The Flight Attendant” ended and the episodes went straight through the roof again. Although series creator Steve Yockey was no longer able to base the new episodes on the novel by Chris Bohjalian, the results and the ratings from critics and the audience were extremely positive. That’s already a good sign for more episodes to come. How the chances actually stand and when and how it could continue in The Flight Attendant Season 3, you can read here.

Will there be The Flight Attendant Season 3?

So far, there is no official confirmation of a third season, even though the audience is already eagerly awaiting a sequel after the end of season 2. In addition, lead actress Cuoco cast doubt on the future of the series in a People interview:

“Now I’m thinking to myself, ‘Well, we’ve done two [seasons]. We should probably be done.’ And I think I’m overwhelmed with that thought […] There’s definitely interest in a third season. I think for me and at this point, the plane has landed.”

It’s not a particularly rosy outlook at the moment, but maybe Cuoco really just needs a little break and some space. She continues:

“Some of my favorite shows on TV take some time to come back, and then I’m also really looking forward to a new season. I want to make sure the fans are excited and that we don’t push them too hard.”

So for now patience is required, but as soon as there is official news or a confirmation or cancellation for season 3, you’ll find out here.

The Flight Attendant Season 3: When and how will it continue?

Between the first and second season, US fans had to wait about a year and a half. However, since the second season was commissioned in time and The Flight Attendant Season 3 is still waiting for the green light, the break could now be even longer. Provided that those responsible at MAX (formerly HBO Max) decide soon, a start in the second half of 2023 is quite realistic. If it’s up to Cassie actress Cuoco, fans may have to plan for even more waiting time.

Caution, spoilers for season 2 follow

Without wanting to anticipate too much: The finale of season 2 held a few exciting revelations, which, however, leave all the more questions open for new episodes. For what plans Grace (Mae Martin) as well as Dot (Cheryl Hines) pursue, how it continues with Davey (T.R. Knight) and above all, what it has to do with Cassie’s imaginary abstinence from alcohol or her repressed relapses, remains unanswered so far. Season 3 could therefore clarify all these questions and involve Cassie in an exciting new case that will once again push her to her (mental) limits.
