Netflix’s One Piece series launches as early as this year. Who will portray the ray-finned fish-man Kuroobi in the live-action adaptation has now been revealed.
The anime One Piece and the manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda will be adapted as a live-action series on Netflix this year. Many fans are eagerly awaiting how their favorites and the often exaggerated characters of the original will look in live-action form. Now, the casting of one of the many villains in Netflix’s One Piece has been revealed: the ray fish man Kuroobi.
The villain in Netflix’s One Piece: Kuroobi is a feared fish-man pirate
The first season of Netflix’s One Piece adapts the so-called East Blue saga, in which the first straw-hat pirates gather around Monkey D. Ruffy and must defeat several nasty pirate villains at once. In addition to Captain Morgan and the clown pirate Buggy, these also include the fish people of the dreaded Arlong gang.
After knowing that McKinley Belcher III will embody leader Arlong, the fan site OP_Netflix_Fan now found out which actor will play the role of Arlong’s commander Kuroobi: Jandre le Roux, who most recently starred in the Netflix series Ludik.
Starring in Netflix’s One Piece series are Iñaki Godoy (as Luffy), Mackenyu (as Rorona Zoro), Emily Rudd (as Nami), Jacob Gibson (as Usopp), and Taz Skylar (as Sanji). The casting of the Arlong gang will be fascinating for the character Nami. This is because she works for the Fishmen pirates at the beginning of the series.
When will the live-action series One Piece start on Netflix?
A definite release date for One Piece is currently not yet known. According to rumors, the first season consisting of eight episodes could start on August 31, 2023 on Netflix.
