- The continuation of the fantasy series was announced via a short video and accompanied by a new season poster.
The comic book adaptation “Sweet Tooth” is a real audience favorite and thus a complete success for the streaming service Netflix. In April 2023, after almost two years of waiting, the 2nd season has finally been released. A few days after the release of the season, Netflix has now announced that the adventure of the deer-boy Gus will continue in a final 3rd season.
Sweet Tooth season 3: Start Date
Netflix has now given the official “go” for another sequel shortly after the release of season 2. But with this announcement there is also a small drop of bitterness, because the 3rd season “Sweet Tooth” will bring the series to an end.
In a short video via Twitter, the main actors Christian Convery and Nonso Anozie announce that the series will be extended in a final 3rd season at Netflix. This should also appear soon and then take us on a last exciting journey.
Sweet Tooth Season 3: Trailer
The extension of the fantasy series by a final third season has now been announced by Netflix with a first poster. On this one can already see that the last journey of the deer boy will take us far north, as he is surrounded by northern lights.
Sweet Tooth Season 3: Plot
So far, we can only speculate about the plot of Sweet Tooth season 3. But the grand finale of season 2 leaves us with some burning questions that should be taken up in a possible sequel and, in the best case, answered.
In season 2, the action revolved primarily around the imprisonment of Gus and the other hybrid children by the “Last Men” and General Abbot. Here, a doctor, played by Adeel Akhtar, was to conduct experiments on the children to find a cure for the deadly virus.
In the end, however, Doctor Singh turned against his orders and helped the captured children escape. Outside the prison, they then got support from Tommy and Aimee, making the tricky venture successful. Although General Abbot’s nasty plan was eventually foiled and the villain defeated, in order to reap this victory, the friends also had to face some tough defeats.
In an upcoming 3rd season, the journey will probably continue towards Alaska, because this is where Gus’ mother Birdie is said to be staying. Is she the key to the mystery behind the origin of the children and also the mysterious disease? In addition, after the death of General Abbot, a new villainess, Mrs. Zhang, could be directly after Gus. It seems that she controls the two dangerous wolf brothers, who will pose some danger to the group.
Sweet Tooth Season 3: Cast & Production
Although there is no firm information on a cast for Sweet Tooth season 3 yet either, but if nothing changes in the previous cast, we expect the following actors and actresses in a sequel:
- Christian Convery as Gus
- Nonso Anozie as Tommy
- Naledi Murray as Wendy
- Stefania LaVie Owen as Bear
- Adeel Akhtar as Dr. Aditya Singh
- Aliza Vellani as Rani Singh
- Amy Seimetz as Birdie
On the other hand, we will not see both Neil Sandilands, who portrayed General Abbot, and Aimee, played by Dania Ramirez, again in upcoming episodes. Both characters died or were killed off in the grand finale of “Sweet Tooth” season 2.
