“Superman & Lois” goes into the fourth round. But even though the season 3 finale leaves us with numerous cliffhangers, not all stories will be finished in season 4. We explain why.
Even before the finale of the 3rd season, “Superman & Lois” was extended for a 4th season.
With 10 episodes, however, this is significantly shorter than the previous seasons.
There are also further restrictions in the cast, as numerous actors were dropped from the series.
“Superman & Lois” has been renewed by US broadcaster The CW for a fourth season. At the same time, “Gotham Knights” was canceled due to the restructuring of the station. But “Superman & Lois” is also feeling the changes. Season 4 will be shorter than its predecessors.
Superman & Lois Season 4: Release Date
So far, no release date for “Superman & Lois” Season 4 is known. We expect a start in spring 2024, since season 3 started in March 2023. Season 4 will include only ten episodes instead of the usual 15 episodes.
Superman & Lois Season 4: Plot
Season 3 of “Superman & Lois” ended with numerous cliffhangers and leaves us with questions that will have to be answered in Season 4. The biggest cliffhanger of the season is the ongoing battle between Superman and Doomsday.
When Superman finds out that Doomsday can’t be killed, he lures the latter into space. There we see the two confront each other on the moon. But this is not the only unfinished story after the season 3 finale.
We learned that Chrissy is expecting a child with Kyle. The latter’s life has recently gone off the rails, which could make fatherhood all the more complicated for him. Jordan’s love life seems less crowned with success, as he is now separated from Sarah for good. They said goodbye to each other with a final handshake.
Sam’s new girlfriend, on the other hand, turned out to be a sidekick of Lex Luther. We will probably have some trouble with him in season 4. Sam also offered John Henry a job developing new technologies for the Department of Defense. This means a move to Metropolis for him. There Nathalie will go to the same school as Matteo.
Nat’s father, of course, also had a love story going on, as did everyone in the season 3 finale, because when he tells Lana about his move, the couple finally get closer.
But all the stories that end with a cliffhanger are unlikely to be resolved in Season 4. Numerous actors and actresses from past seasons have been cut from the script for the new episodes.
As a result, we won’t find out what will happen next with Kyle, Sarah, Sam, Lana, John Henry and Nathalie.
Superman & Lois Season 4: Cast
In the 4th season of “Superman & Lois” we see again Tyler Hoechlin (“Teen Wolf”) as Kal-El / Clark Kent / Superman. Elizabeth Tulloch (“Grimm”) embodies Lois Lane. Other returning actors and actresses include series co-stars Michael Bishop (“Grace Beside Me”) and Alex Garfin (“New Amsterdam”) as their children Jordan and Jonathan Kent. In addition, “The Walking Dead” star Michael Cudlitz joins the cast of “Superman & Lois” as Lex Luthor.
Due to massive budget cuts, Dylan Walsh (“Blue Bloods – Crime Scene New York”) as General Samuel Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui (“The Passage”) as Lana Lang Cushing / Lana-Rho, Erik Valdez (“General Hospital”) as Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette (“Dead Girls Don’t Lie”) as Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks (“Vampire Diaries”) as John Henry Irons / Captain Luthor, Tayler Buck (“Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living”) as Natalie Lane Irons and Sofia Hasmik (“Crazy About You”) as Chrissy Beppo not returning for Season 4.
