Netflix is showing another Mark Millar comic book adaptation with Super Crooks. What about Season 2 of the wacky anime series?
The Netflix anime Super Crooks is about petty criminal Johnny Bolt, who recruits a team of eight supervillains to carry out a massive robbery in Spain. The series is based on Mark Millar’s comic of the same name* and is set in the same universe as Jupiter’s Legacy.
Will there be a Super Crooks Season 2?
Super Crooks has been available on Netflix since November 25, 2021. Since it is an original series, the streaming service has the exclusive publishing rights. The 13 episodes were produced in the studio Bones (My Hero Academia) directed by Motonobu Hori.
Whether a Super Crooks Season 2 will follow, we can not say. Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t officially renewed the anime yet. Also, how successful Super Crooks was with the streaming provider is uncertain. Netflix usually keeps such views secret, so we can draw conclusions from this at the moment.

We are still waiting for Netflix to renew ‘Super Crooks’ for season 2, As the anime has not been officially renewed for Super Crooks Season 2, neither Netflix nor Studio Bones have revealed a targeted release date. The anime debuted with 13 episodes on Netflix on November 25, 2021, after its initial announcement in March 2019. Unfortunately, even if the anime is renewed for a second adventure, fans should expect a long wait before Johnny Bolt and his crew returns to Netflix. Not only will a fresh narrative need creating, but Studio Bones themselves also have an incredibly busy schedule for 2022.
Arguably one of the biggest and best animation studios currently working in the industry, Bones is responsible for the likes of My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100 and Bungo Stray Dogs.
According to HITC, if Super Crooks return for season 2 with an original storyline, it will be the latter stages of 2022, perhaps even 2023, considering the timeline for Bones’ other more lucrative titles.

Super Crooks: Action
Super Crooks is a Japanese-American superhero anime streaming television series based on the comic book series of the same name by writer Mark Millar and artist Leinil Francis Yu. The series was written by Dai Sato from Millar’s story, and it was directed by Motonobu Hori in his solo directorial debut. The 13-episode series premiered on Netflix worldwide on November 25, 2021. It serves as a spin-off to Jupiter’s Legacy. In June 2021, a live-action Super Crooks series and a second spin-off from the simultaneously-canceled Jupiter’s Legacy was announced to be in active development.
