The story will pick up from the end of season 5 of “The Last Kingdom” and focus on Uthred of Bebbanburg. Uthred will roam the country with his comrades in the sequel, with the goal of creating a united England.
However, due to the death of King Edward, a struggle for the crown begins, which once again puts the peace of the kingdom in danger and confronts Uthred and his people with new challenges. During their journey, they encounter new allies, as well as new enemies. A power play with all-changing consequences has begun.

The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die Production
The film was directed by Ed Bazalgette, while Martha Hillier was responsible for the screenplay. The sequel is being produced by Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame and Mat Chaplin, and by Carnival Films, part of Universal International Studios. Dreymon, who produced “The Last Kingdom,” returns alongside Hillier as executive producer for “Seven Kings Must Die.” Speaking about the film, Dreymon said it was an honor to be a part of the series and film, adding that he was proud of the cast and crew that made the series and film possible.
