Even after the school years, there was still no end in sight for “Riverdale“. With the Riverdale Season 7, however, fans have to say goodbye.

Since 2017, viewers have been following the adventures of Archie (K.J. Apa), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) in and around their hometown of Riverdale. With the end of “Riverdale” season 6, we started to take a look into the future and wonder what the future holds for the next season (Riverdale Season 7).

If “Riverdale” fans have their way, the seasons should be continued continuously. But it’s not going to happen quite that quickly. It is not yet known when the seventh season (Riverdale Season 7) of the teen series will be released. What we can already say, however, is that it will be the last season of the teen series. Jughead and Co. say goodbye to their fans with the end of the seventh season (via TVLine).

We assume that the production of the new episodes will not have any difficulties due to the corona virus and may return to the old rhythm. According to this, season seven (Riverdale Season 7) could start as early as this fall on Netflix. As soon as there is official information about this, you will find it here as usual.

What could happen in Riverdale Season 7?

Several musicals, a journey into the past, the Gargoyle King and Black Hood: The group around redhead Archie has already experienced many adventures and had to face countless dangers. The storylines of the individual seasons are almost as unpredictable as their enemies themselves. Although there is still no official synopsis for the final season, we can guess from the last scenes from “Riverdale” season 6 how it could continue.

After the teen series took a big leap into the future at the beginning of the last season and had Archie and co. return as adults, “Riverdale” turns the hands way back in the final moments of the sixth season. After Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) tries to stop the comet, Archie wakes up in his childhood bedroom and gets ready for school. However, the redhead has not only gotten younger, fans can also look forward to a whole new decade. From now on, the series will be set in the 1950s. That the events from the future are forgotten forever, however, is not a given, because one can still remember life in Riverdale in the 21st century: Jughead.

To what extent the series will remain true to the extreme change of the finale in Riverdale Season 7 remains to be seen. It wouldn’t be the first time the series has gone down the wrong track. Since Jughead seems to be the only one who knows about their old life, he might try to bring himself and his friends back to their Riverdale. Or the series shows at the end again completely new adventures that have nothing to do with the previous experiences and make season 1 to 6 virtually void.

If you can’t understand the time jump at all, you should take a look at the Archie comics. They served as a loose template for the series and are set in the 1940s and 1950s.

Riverdale Season 7 Trailer

This section will be updated when the trailer is released.

Riverdale Plot and Background

Teen drama from “The CW“, in which a small town is disturbed by a mysterious murder case. Based on the popular “Archie” comics.

At first glance, Riverdale looks like an idyllic town where nothing bad can happen. But then the murder of a high school student shakes the peaceful community. These include football player and heartthrob Archie (K. J. Apa), who has a soft spot for music, his best friend Jughead (Cole Sprouse), a thoughtful outsider, and the innocent model student Betty (Lili Reinhart), who has long been secretly in love with Archie.

When wealthy New Yorker Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) moves to Riverdale, she befriends Archie’s clique. There is a spark between her and Archie. But Veronica does not want to give in to her feelings so as not to hurt her friend Betty. Meanwhile, everyone has only one question: Who killed the beautiful Jason Blossom? His manipulative sister Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) might know more about it than she pretends. After the official investigation reveals nothing new, the friends begin to investigate on their own.

Riverdale Backgrounds

The mystery series from The CW completely reinterprets the cult “Archie” series. While the comics maintain an innocent tone, “Riverdale” creates a dark world full of sex, violence and mental abysses that only shares the basic features with the original. Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is responsible for the change of style, who has already proven his talent for successful teen formats with “Glee”. 2018 also sees the release of the spin-off “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”, which picks up on horror elements.

While the cast of teenagers consists mainly of new faces, the series shines in the occupation of adult roles with pop culture greats. Girl Amick, who plays Betty’s mother in the series, has participated in the artistic role model “Twin Peaks”. Luke Perry — Archie’s father in the series — once played the heartthrob himself in the cult soap “Beverly Hills, 90210”.
