Outlander, a Starz series, revolves around time traveler Claire, who is pulled through the stones of Craigh na Dun for the first time in 1946. Arriving in the 18th century, she must build a new life for herself. This leap through time changes Claire’s subsequent life in significant ways. In the past, she finds her future.

|Geillis Duncan arrives in the past.
|Jamie is arrested at Lallybroch by Captain Jack Randal and brutally whipped at Fort William.
|With Murtagh’s help, Jamie flees to France.
|Jamie’s father, Brian Fraser, dies.
|Claire is pulled through the stone circle and wakes up in Craigh na Dun.
|She encounters Jack Randall and is rescued by Murtagh.
|Claire travels with the Scottish soldiers and meets Jamie.
|On June 15, Claire and Jamie get married.
|Claire and Jamie travel to Paris to prevent the Jacobite uprising. In Paris, they are trying to manipulate Charles Stuart so that there is no uprising.
|In Paris, Claire becomes pregnant, but loses the child. Jamie and Claire adopt Fergus and take him back to Scotland.
|Charles Stuart lays claim to the English throne. Jamie and other Scottish clans are drawn into the rebellion and go into battle.
|Mary Hawkins and Jack Randall get married. Mary is pregnant by Randall’s brother, but he is seriously ill. Jack knows that he will fall in battle and marries Mary so that she and her child are taken care of.
|With the Battle of Inverness unstoppable, Claire embarks on the journey through the stones back to 1948. She is pregnant again and Jamie wants her and the child to be safe.
|The Jacobite uprising fails. At the Battle of Cullodeon in Inverness, thousands of men are killed.
|Ian Fraser Murray is born on November 15th.
|Jamie lives in hiding in a cave near Lallybroch for seven years.
|He turns himself in so that his sister and children can collect the high bounty on his head. He is sent to prison in Ardsmuir.
|John Grey becomes prison administrator in Ardsmuir.
|The prison is closed and the prisoners are shipped to the United States. As serfs, they are supposed to serve the rest of their sentence in the colony.
|Jamie comes to Helwater in the Lake District as a stable worker.
|On January 9, Jamie’s son is born as: William “Willie” Clarence Henry George Ransom, the ninth Earl of Ellesmere.
|To protect his illegitimate son, Jamie leaves Helwater and goes back to Lallybroch. He was pardoned by the British government.
|Jamie marries Laoghaire. Since the marriage is not happy, he leaves his home and builds a new life for himself in Edinburgh. He opens a printing shop.
|On November 1st, Claire travels back in time through the stones of Craigh na Dun.
|After 20 years, Claire and Jamie finally meet again.
|Ian Murray is kidnapped by pirates and taken to the West Indies. Claire and Jamie set out to find him.
|John Grey becomes Governor of Jamaica.
|Claire, Jamie and Co. travel to the new world and arrive in Georgia, USA.
|Claire and Jamie settle in Fraser’s Ridge.
|On May 1st, Brianna and Roger travel back in time separated by the stones of Craigh na Dun. After visiting the Murrays in Scotland, Brianna travels to the New World to meet her parents.
|In September, Brianna and Roger reunite in Wilmington and marry by handfasting.
|A few days later, Brianna meets Stephen Bonnet, who rapes her.
|In February, young Ian is adopted by the Kanyen’kehaka Indian tribe.
|In May, Brianna gives birth to her son, Jeremiah Alexander Ian Fraser MacKenzie.
|In October, Brianna and Roger get married on Mount Helicon.
|In March, Jocasta Cameron and Duncan Innes get married. (In the series, she will probably marry Murtagh)
|During the Battle of Alamance, Roger is arrested as a rebel and hanged. Claire saves him from certain death.
|October: Ian returns from the Mohican to Frasers Ridge.
|Jamie is on the side of the American rebels. Roger and Brianna decide to stay in the past.
|December 16: Boston Tea Party
|Rebels spread unrest in the colonies. Riots ensue.
|The rebels set up correspondent committees in which they discuss their demands
|The first Continental Congress meets in Philadelphia.
|Lord John finds Jamie’s name on the list of a correspondence committee. In March, he warns his friend not to put himself and his family in danger. The coming confrontation between the games is looming.
|July: Rebel forces, led by John Ashe, set fire to Fort Johnston. Governor Josiah Martin flees.
|Claire is accused of the murder of Malva Christie and becomes a prisoner of Governor Josiah Martin.
|The Fraser’s Ridge estate is not burning down on January 21, as Brianna had read in the Wilmington Gazette.
|In April, Amanda Claire Hope MacKenzie is born. (Brianna’s daughter)
|4 July: Declaration of Independence
|In July, Brianna and her family meet William Ransom in the city of Wilmington. Brianna doesn’t know he’s Jamie’s son and her half-brother.
|On November 1st, Brianna, Roger, Jemmy, and Amanda travel back to the future through the stones of Ocracok. Only in the modern world can Amanda’s heart defect be treated.
|On December 21, Fraser’s Ridge burns down. Not as the Wilmington Gazette said, on January 21st.
|Jamie and Claire leave Fraser’s Ridge to book a passage to Scotland. Jamie wants to get his printing press from Edinburgh to fight in the emerging conflict with words instead of weapons.
|The ship is taken prisoner and Jamie and Claire find themselves in the middle of the Battle of Saratoga. Jamie is seriously injured and Claire has to amputate a finger for him.
|On the battlefield, Ian encounters Quaker Rachel Hunter.
|On December 20, the Frasers arrive in Edinburgh and Jamie finds his printing press, which Andrew Bell has kept for him for 11 years.
|In March, Jenny’s husband Ian dies.
|Claire goes back to Philadelphia and Jamie and Jenny promise to follow with a ship.
|William joins General Washington’s camp at Valley Forge to find his badly injured stepcousin.
|The ship Jenny and Jamie are traveling on sinks. Lord John then persuades Claire to marry him so that he can protect her.
|On June 18, Claire and Jamie meet again.
|A meeting ensues between Jamie and William. Their connection is undeniable.
|In June, Jamie fights alongside Generals Washington, Lafayette, and Lee at the Battle of Monmouth.
|After Claire is shot, Jamie leaves the army and they go back to Philadelphia.
|On September 15, Rollo dies.
|On 18 September, Fergus and Marsali’s son Henri-Christian dies in a fire in the printing works.
|The Fraser family goes back to Fraser’s Ridge.
|Claire Elisabeth Beauchamp was born on 20 October.
|Claire’s parents die and she is adopted by her uncle (Lamb) Quentin Lamberg Beauchamp.
|Claire and Frank get married.
|World War II breaks out.
|Claire works as a nurse on the front lines in France and Frank is assigned to the secret service.
|The Second World War ends.
|Frank meets the ‘ghost’ of Jamie outside the door of their hotel
|Claire is dragged in the stone circle of Craigh na Dun through time to the year 1743.
|Claire suddenly appears in Inverness. She is pregnant.
|23.11. Brianna Ellen Randall is born.
|Claire begins medical school in Boston.
|Frank Randall is killed in a car accident.
|Claire travels with Brianna to Inverness to investigate the Frasers. She learns from Roger Wakefield that Jamie survived the battle.
|She tells Brianna the truth about her father.
|Brianna meets Roger for the first time.
|Geillis Duncan travels through time and arrives in 1733, 10 years early.
|Kenneth also travels through the stones and arrives in 1743.
|On November 1st, Claire travels back in time to find Jamie. It arrives in 1766.
|On May 1, Brianna travels back in time to find her parents. She read in a newspaper article that Claire and Jamie will die in a fire. She arrives in Craigh na Dun in 1769.
|Roger travels after his love, Brianna.
|On November 1st, Brianna’s family returns from the past in Ocracoke.
|Claire’s boyfriend, Joe Abernathy, helps Brianna and her family find their way back to the present. They acquire the Lallybroch estate and settle in Scotland.
