“Only Murders in the Building” is one of the most popular comedy series on streaming service Hulu in the US. So it’s no wonder that a third season has already been ordered. In this country, you can watch the series on Disney+.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3: Start Date
The filming for Only Murders in the Building season 3 has already started. Since there were only eight months between the first and second seasons of the Hulu series, it can be assumed that we can expect new episodes of the crime series in the summer of 2023.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3: Trailer
There is currently no official trailer for the 3rd season “Only Murders in the Building”. However, a first teaser was published for the Oscars 2023, in which the big surprise Maryl Streep is announced.
In addition, pictures have surfaced from the set showing Selena Gomez running through New York in her wedding dress.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3: Plot
Ben Glenroy is dead. The star of Oliver’s new Broadway play collapsed lifeless on stage at the Goosebury Theatre. Was it murder? Probably, considering the show we’re watching here. So far, however, we know little about Ben and his death, though we already know the prime suspect: Charles-Haden Savage!
Before the curtain rose, only to fall one last time for Ben Glenroy moments later, Ben and Charles met on stage, where Charles threatened him. “Stay away from her” and “I know what you did” Charles said, but it won’t be until Season 3 that these squishy statements will make more sense.
The only thing that is certain is that Charles and Oliver are once again involved in a murder case, with Mabel likely to join her two sprightly friends in the investigation. For the first time, the murder did not take place at Arconia, but we will certainly see the building again in season 3.
Did Ben Glenroy have connections to other characters we already know from the first two seasons? However, death seems to haunt Mabel, Oliver and Charles and that can hardly be a coincidence really.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3: Cast
Of course, there is a reunion with Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin in season 3. Paul Rudd is also likely to play a bigger role in Season 3 after his guest appearance in the Season 2 finale, so we’ll get to know his character better in flashbacks.
Also returning are Michael Cyril Creighton as Howard, Ryan Broussard as Will Putnam and Jackie Hoffman as Uma Heller. Meanwhile, nothing is yet known about the return of Tina Fey as Canning and Nathan Lane as Teddy Dimas.
After a brief guest appearance in Season 2, Amy Schumer had no role, but she could return in Season 3, provided Sting’s old apartment at Arconia isn’t occupied by a new famous tenant each season.
Since Meryl Streep has been confirmed for the new season, it’s possible that she might move into Sting’s apartment. Nothing more is known about her role so far.
Actor Jesse Williams, who is known to most as Dr. Jackson Avery from the successful doctor series “Grey’s Anatomy,” will definitely be part of the cast.
Williams will now appear in season 3 of OMITB in the recurring role of a documentary filmmaker who moves into the building brand new and shows a special interest in the latest murder case. Does this make him the latest competition for the trio and who will be the first to solve the case?
“Emily in Paris” actress Ashley Park also joins the “Only Murders in the Building” team. The talented singer will take on the role of Broadway genius Kimber, making her a fellow cast member of Charles and Oliver.
The newest cast members announced for Season 3 are Jeremy Shamos (“Better Call Saul”), Linda Emond (“The Patient”) and Wesley Taylor (“Indoor Boys”). However, nothing is known about their characters yet.
