A few months ago, the last episode of Moriarty The Patriot was released on Crunchyroll. Will the anime series still continue with a 2nd season?
Moriarty the Patriot offers an entertaining mix of crime, drama and action and takes us on the trail of Professor Moriarty, the antagonist of the legendary private detective Sherlock Holmes. In 2020, the anime series was first broadcast on Japanese television, and it came via Crunchyroll. Will there be a Moriarty the Patriot Season 2?
Moriarty the Patriot: This is the plot
It is the end of the 19th century. Great Britain, in the midst of the advancing industrial revolution, has expanded its power and reached the peak of its glory. Despite all the technological progress, the class system that has existed from time immemorial remains deeply rooted. The aristocracy enjoys its privileges as a matter of course. The lower class struggles daily to make a living. William James Moriarty now sets out to smash this corrupt class system in order to build a new country from its ashes according to his ideals.
Will there be a Moriarty the Patriot Season 2?
The anime series consists of a total of 24 episodes and adapts the manga of the same name. So far, the creators of the animation studio Production I.G have not announced the prospect of a sequel. Thus, the 2nd season of Moriarty the Patriot has not been confirmed or otherwise teased. Fans can only hope for an announcement soon.

Moriarty the Patriot Season 2 Release Date
As the series has not yet been renewed we are not able to give an official release date. However, we can estimate when Season 2 would be released if the series should be renewed. We expect the series to release Moriarty the Patriot Season 2 in the Winter of 2023 if it’s announced this year.
Also, keep in mind the second cour may be officially labeled as Yuukoku no Moriarty Season 2. For example, Overlord Season 2 and 3 were considered separate seasons despite being released similarly to a split-cour anime. As such, some may consider an anime sequel to be Moriarty the Patriot Season 3.
The reason for the expected release date is that Season 1 Part 1 was released in October 2020, Part 2 followed in April 2021. The series concluded June 2021.
The anime has adapted nearly all of the manga into both parts of the series. A source says the latest Chapter (60) will be released in July 2021, meaning fans would first have to wait for more manga to be released before any more of it can be adapted into material for the anime series. For the time being, no official release date has been released but we expect to know more in the coming months.

Moriarty the Patriot Season 2 Spoilers (Synopsis)
The last time anime audiences watched the Moriarty the Patriot anime the final dramatic conflict played out between Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty. Liam publicly admitted that he’s the Lord of Crime and basically went on a killing spree, targeting corrupt nobles left and right.
Fred and Louis disagreed with Liam’s plan to sacrifice himself and approached Sherlock in order to save Liam from himself. In the end, the three brothers were separated, with Albert assuming the public blame for the Lord of Crime and Louis joining MI6 as a secret agent for the British crown.
Liam was assumed dead after the fall from Tower Bridge. Honoring Liam’s wishes, Watson publishes a book detailing him to the public as the evilest criminal Sherlock ever faced. The final scene had Sherlock tracking Liam down to Switzerland, which is a reference to how Doyle’s The Final Problem ended in a confrontation on top of Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland.
This meeting happened three months later but what the anime didn’t show is how they reached that point. The manga also didn’t reveal that Liam was still alive until several chapters after the Tower Bridge fall.
After Sherlock and Liam fell from the Tower Bridge into the Thames they were rescued by American secret agent William H Bonney aka Bill the Kid.
It turns out the Americans had been observing the chaos in Britain and decided to take advantage of the situation. The Americans rescued Sherlock and Liam in exchange for both secretly working for the United States.
With the Moriarty brothers no longer being the Lord of Crime, Sebastian Moran, Fred Porlock, and Jack Renfield try to move on with their lives. But the sniper Moran takes Liam’s disappearance badly and eventually begins assassinating corrupt nobles.
As an MI6 agent, Louis investigates the murder and that’s when Sherlock unexpectedly returns to help. At Liam’s behest, Sherlock wants to stop Moran and save him from himself.
