Ben Affleck and his ex Jennifer Garner could be together again in front of the camera for “Deadpool 3”. Jennifer Lopez allegedly doesn’t like that at all.
Currently, the shooting of the highly anticipated Marvel film “Deadpool 3” by director Shawn Levy (“Free Guy”) is on hold due to the actors’ strike of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Together with the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA), the entire Hollywood dream factory was shut down. Until an agreement is reached in the labor dispute between the two unions and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which acts on behalf of the film studios and streaming services, all filming will be delayed for weeks, if not months.
This forced break could possibly come in quite handy for one person: According to alleged insider circles, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is anything but happy that her husband, Hollywood star Ben Affleck, is returning to the big screen as blind lawyer Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil. Twenty years after his debut, he is reportedly set to reprise the role he says he regrets the most in the sequel to one of the most popular Marvel series ever (via Independent).
Now, of course, it should not go unmentioned that at the moment it is not officially confirmed that the 50-year-old is even involved as Daredevil in “Deadpool 3″. However, he was spotted on the set of the Marvel movie (via Cinemablend). Along with the official confirmation that Jennifer Garner will be making a cameo as Elektra in the film (via The Hollywood Reporter), it would basically only be obvious to assume that Affleck’s Daredevil can’t be far off either.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner: Those who regularly follow the tabloids know that the two were married from 2005 to 2015 and have three children together. They had already met on the set of the Michael Bay war drama “Pearl Harbor,” but were initially just good friends and then filmed “Daredevil” together in 2002. It wasn’t until the summer of 2004 that they discovered deeper feelings for each other, after Affleck split from – you guessed it! – Jennifer Lopez earlier that year.

Jennifer Lopez, who has been back together with Affleck since 2021 and married him in July 2022, is rumored to be none too happy that her hubby Ben Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner will be seen together in front of the camera again. As Woman’s Day (via Mirror) claims to have learned from unnamed sources, Lopez is said to have set some rules:
“Jennifer Lopez wants to have 24/7 access to the set and also be able to drop by unannounced. There are to be no joint promo interviews [for Affleck and Garner] or even photo shoots, and no after-hours socializing. She wants Ben [Affleck] to come straight home as soon as he’s done shooting.”
In a way, these rumors would also confirm that Affleck and Garner will only make cameo appearances. After all, “Deadpool 3” dives deep into the multiverse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), even Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is said to be not the one fans have been following all these years, but an alternate version that also wears the iconic yellow costume from the comics. But until it is so far, originally the 1st May 2024 was targeted as a cinema start, MCU fans still have to wait a while.
