In the finale of Manifest on Netflix, it’s a matter of life and death. Who will survive and who will have to pay the ultimate price? We clarify in Manifest End Explained.
The long-awaited finale of “Manifest” on Netflix finally provides answers! Since Season 1, we’ve been rooting for the passengers of Flight 828. What’s the story behind the flight’s disappearance? What happens on the day of the death? Over the course of the series, there have been numerous dramatic deaths and not all characters have made it to the finale. In Season 4 Part 2, the characters find out what fate is in store for them and who among them will not survive God’s judgment.
On June 02, 2024, all the surviving passengers meet and together determine the fate of humanity. If they fail to stop the day of death, a volcano apocalypse will occur. The finale holds revelations, dramatic deaths and an unexpected happy ending for you.
This is the fate that the passengers of the mystery series “Manifest” receive.
How Cal brings back Flight 828
Since the beginning of the fourth season of “Manifest” we know that Cal’s task is to recover the lifeboat. He finds out in the finale that he is supposed to unite two Omega Sapphires.
Thinking that he must sacrifice himself, he joins his sapphire with the one from Noah’s Ark. This creates a blue beacon that brings all the passengers together in one place and restores the 828 plane.
Al-Zuras explains how to escape his death day
For a long time Michaela, Ben and the others have been trying to figure out how to escape his death day. In the spectacular finale, Olive and Jared find out that doing the right thing is not enough.
Olive and Jared find clues in Al-Zura’s diary that it also takes forgiveness to escape his death day. In a big twist, it becomes clear that Al-Zura’s drawing from season two means something completely different than previously thought: in this drawing, Ben saves Angelina and chooses forgiveness over hate.
These passengers find redemption on the day of death
In addition to Michaela, Ben, Cal and the others, three passengers had to fear for their lives on Death Day. In the final verdict, all three are convinced that they will be punished for their actions and thus die.
Saanvi, who killed the Major in the second season, firmly assumes the end of her life. However, Ben is able to convince her that she is a good person despite everything. This motivates her to persevere. Eagan and Adrian, who both made some mistakes, are able to prove that there is good in them in the end. Eagen proves this by being willing to sacrifice his life for Adrian.
This is what time travel is all about
After the passengers officially beat their death day and stop the apocalypse, “Manifest” brings one last big twist. The plane lands, but not in 2024 as expected. It quickly becomes clear that it’s 2013, the exact day Flight 828 should have landed.
So the passengers get a new chance at a completely normal life. They have passed God’s test. All of them, except Cal, also have memories of all the experiences and can use these insights to lead a better life.
11 passengers did not survive the day of death
Not everyone survives the final judgment in the finale of “Manifest.” If you don’t pass the big test from God, you will crumble to ashes on June 02, 2024. Paul, Randall, Autumn, Angelina and seven unknown passengers could not prove that they are good people. They crumble to dust and have no chance of salvation.
These characters rise again from death
All’s well that ends well. The passengers have overcome the day of death and find themselves in 2013. Because most of the characters died in the years after 2013, they now get a second chance.
Among them are Astrid, Violet, Fiona Clarke, Sam, Finn, Harvey and Kelly. Also back are Zeke Landon, TJ’s mom, Michaela and Ben’s mom, and Grace.
Why did Flight 828 really disappear?
At the end of “Manifest,” it finally becomes clear what is behind the flight’s disappearance. God has chosen an arbitrary group of people to represent human civilization. The actions of this group will determine whether God will wipe out humanity in a volcanic apocalypse or spare it.
Ultimately, the passengers see this task as the ultimate second chance. Many characters have the opportunity for a better life after the events: For example, Cal will not die of cancer because Saanvi is able to save him.
