The new series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) thrills with Tom Hiddleston in the lead role and introduces fans of the franchise to a new world, which fortunately is not over yet, because Loki season 2 will come to Disney+.
Loki Season 2 Release Date: When will launch?
Those who, like us, had hoped for a post-credit scene in the season finale of “Loki” that would give a preview of a sequel may have ended up disappointed. At least the creators left “Loki” fans with good news: Loki Season 2 is definitely coming. The only question is when.
Unfortunately, there is no official date for the new “Loki” episodes yet, but filming began in the summer, so we assume that the next season will start in spring 2023. The first shots show Loki actor Tom Hiddleston on a street. Instead of his usual costume, he wears a suit. Unfortunately, it is not clear what the god of mischief is planning in this scene.
Whether “Loki” will actually be continued as early as next year remains to be seen. There is a chance that the streaming service will give way to other new Marvel series. Currently, other MCU series are pending. Among others, fans can look forward to “She-Hulk” and a Wakanda series, but when these will start on Disney+ is still a secret.
Loki Season 2 Plot: What happens in the new season?
After the exciting ending of “Loki” Season 1, we can already make various speculations regarding the upcoming Season. We can assume a lot even if no official information about the new episodes is known yet.
Is Loki in another universe?
In the final scene of the MCU series, Loki tries to warn Mobius and Hunter B-15 about the imminent danger from the various Kangs, but neither TVA worker recognizes him. In the multiverse of the Marvel world, one might immediately assume that the God of Mischief is in another universe where he never met his new friend. But anyone who has been paying attention knows that only one TVA (Time Variance Authority) exists and all beings, regardless of which universe they come from, end up at the same TVA. So what happened?
Since Sylvie (Sophia DiMartino) killed the Kang who created the True Timeline, she most likely gave way to all the other Kangs. They may have messed up the True Timeline and traveled back to the place where the TVA was created. At the end, you can clearly see how the statues of the Timekeepers have been replaced with a large statue of Kang aka The One Who Remains. Loki is still in the same universe, but everything has changed…
What happens to Sylvie?
We are not informed about Sylvie’s fate in the finale of “Loki”. After she kills Kang, the scene switches to her other variation. Since she now has her supposed free will, we could assume that she is heading to her own time. Whether she gets her old life back remains to be seen. With the possible spread of the Kang variants and the fact that the TVA is still intact, there is a high chance that she will not be able to return to her life so easily. Hopefully, we’ll find out where she ends up in the second season of “Loki.”
Will Kang return in Loki Season 2?
The fact that Kang the Conqueror makes his MCU debut in season 1 of “Loki” came as a surprise, despite previous assumptions. Next, the character will appear in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” which variant we will encounter then is not yet known. Possibly, it will be the deceased scientist from the 31st century. If the Kang we know appears, the third “Ant-Man” movie will certainly take place before the events of the MCU series finale. After all, the head of the TVA was killed by Sylvie.
However, his demise doesn’t have to mean that viewers won’t see him again in season 2 of “Loki.” After all, the other Kangs are now on the rise. In the next season, Loki will most likely go up against the dangerous variants of the Conqueror. If he manages to pull Mobius and Hunter-B15 over from the truth, they will surely help him. Loki Season 2 Cast: Who would return for new episodes?
Who all we will see again in “Loki” Season 2 remains to be seen for now. Marvel fans won’t have to do without Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Sophia Di Martino as his variant Sylvie, but what about the rest of the cast? Eugene Cordero already told ScreenRant that he will be as Casey in front of the camera. In the “Wired Autocomplete Interview” Owen Wilson also revealed that he will be back as Mobius in season 2. “Ravonna Renslayer” actress Gugu Mbatha Raw confessed in an interview with Good Morning America that she would also be returning for Season 2 and that she is already looking forward to it:
Are Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15) and Jonathan Majors (Kang) returning? We can only hope so at this point, but since their stories are not finished, we are highly likely to assume so.
