Sylvester Stallone makes a cameo appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It almost became one of the most curious appearances of the Rocky star. The reason for this is a nasty joke by the director.
- Slyvester Stallone will make a guest appearance in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”.
- During the shooting, director James Gunn asked him to say a vulgar phrase.
The curious scene did not make it into the film.
On May 3, 2023, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will be released in cinemas, followed indefinitely later by the release on Disney+. And a real icon will make a guest appearance in the film: Sylvester Stallone. For a short appearance, he will once again slip into the role of Stakar Ogord, which the Rocky star already took on in the second part of the film series. During filming, however, director and screenwriter James Gunn had a rather curious direction for the world star.
This was quite vulgar, as Gunn revealed together with “Guardians of the Galaxy” lead actor Chris Pratt to the US entertainment magazine CinemaBlend. So Stallone received the spontaneous instruction on set from Gunn to say the phrase “I have to poop.” An unsurprising request when you know that Gunn likes to demand spontaneous changes from his actors during filming.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – Rock star refuses: “I’m not going to say that.”
Stallone, however, reportedly refused to say the words, although he apparently repeated the phrase almost word-for-word in his incomprehension of the request. Ultimately, however, the sentence apparently would not have made it into the film anyway. Perhaps better that way, because although the Guardians of the Galaxy films have a certain adolescent humor, the sentence might have been a bit too much of a good thing.
Compared to his appearance in the action-thriller sequel Cliffhanger 2, Stallone’s role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is merely a minor supporting role, but his appearance is likely to bring a smile to many a fan’s face.
