Tyler Rake is back among the living! In the action-packed sequel to the Netflix film “Tyler Rake: Extraction 2,” Chris Hemsworth’s (“Thor: Love and Thunder”) dead-beat mercenary must free the family of a Georgian gangster boss from a prison.
What initially sounds like a normal assignment for a brave mercenary apparently quickly turns personal. At least that’s what the new trailer that Netflix has just released suggests.
We hear the meaningful voice of Golshifteh Farahani (“Infiltration”) a.k.a. Nik Khan pointing out to Tyler that he needs to figure out why he fought his way back to life despite his severe injuries.
All the approaches to answering this question seem to boil down to the mother and her children being under Tyler’s protection. It’s implied that Tyler might know them from somewhere.
“Extraction 2” is the sequel to Netflix’s action hit “Extraction,” which was released on the streaming service in 2020. At the time, the film ended with a huge cliffhanger, leaving us unknowing whether Tyler could have survived the supposedly fatal shooting.
Now we know he survived and can look forward to the comeback of the courageous and sometimes ruthless mercenary Tyler Rake on June 16, 2023.
