Rocky star and action legend Dolph Lundgren will be part of “The Witcher” franchise. He will probably embody a tough villain with an important key role
- Actor Dolph Lundgren will be part of “The Witcher” series universe.
- However, he will probably not be seen in the main series, but in the spin-off “The Witcher: Rats”.
- According to initial speculation, he will portray the villain Leo Bonhart.
On June 29, the 3rd season of “The Witcher” will start on Netflix. The streaming service has also already announced that it is working on a prequel series called “The Witcher: Rats”. This spin-off will apparently also feature Rocky actor and Swedish action movie icon Dolph Lundgren making his debut in “The Witcher” universe.
Speaking to Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet, Lundgren revealed that he is filming in South Africa for a Netflix series called “The Witcher.” The Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligence, which is considered reliable, confirms this, but adds that Lundgren is not in front of the camera for the main series. Instead, he is to take on a role in the spin-off “The Witcher: Rats”.
The reason for this assumption: The 3rd season of “The Witcher” has already been shot for some time, a 4th season is currently not officially in production. Accordingly, Lundgren’s statement can only refer to the aforementioned spin-off, which is still being worked on and has not yet received an exact release date.
What role the action movie legend will play is still unknown. However, those responsible for the fan site Redanian Intelligence suspect that he will embody Leo Bonhart. The stature of the tough bounty hunter would be Lundgren as if written on the body. Leo Bonhart will presumably appear as the main antagonist in the spin-off. Further speculation suggests that Leo Bonhart could also appear in the main “The Witcher” series at some point in the future. However, this is still a very vague speculation.
