Netflix had ended its superhero series “Daredevil” in 2018 after three seasons. Since then, fans kept demanding the series continuation. Now there is good news, because at the Comic-Con in San Diego, Kevin Feige, the president of “Marvel Studios”, has now announced the new MCU series “Daredevil: Born Again” announced. The 18-episode first season is scheduled for release in spring 2024 on the Disney+ streaming platform. With actor Michael Gandolfini was now rumored to have been found another brand new cast member.

Disney+ has not yet released an official trailer. If there is news, you’ll find it out here.
Daredevil: Born Again Plot
So far, Disney+ is also completely silent about the plot of the series. However, the title of the new series may give a hint of what we could expect in the episodes. The title addition “Born Again” can be interpreted in two directions. On the one hand, perhaps it simply points to the return of the series after the series ending.
On the other hand, readers of the comic have probably already recognized the name, as “Born Again” is the subtitle of “Daredevil” issues #227-231. If the new episodes really pick up the plot of the comics written by Frank Miller and drawn by David Mazzucchelli, we can definitely expect something. Because as the US site Den of Geek explains, the “Born Again” storyline is very dark:
Driven by her drug addiction, a desperate Karen Page turns to Daredevil’s arch-nemesis Kingpin. In exchange for drug money, Karen sells Daredevil’s true identity. As a result, Kingpin uses the information to take Matt Murdock’s life apart piece by piece. Eventually, Murdock reaches his lowest point. A broken and deeply paranoid man, he now leads a life on the streets.
However, the superhero is eventually able to pick himself up again and also helps Karen to beat her drug addiction. Likewise, Murdock finds his way back to the fight for justice and together with Captain America he faces the villain Nuke.
Whether Disney+ will really take this dark path for the “Daredevil” remake, however, remains to be seen. We will keep you up to date on all news regarding the plot.
Daredevil: Born Again Cast and Production
For the new Disney+ series, “Daredevil” Charlie Cox and his adversary “Kingpin” Vincent D’Onofrio will be back in their previous roles. Whether Matt Murdoch’s loyal comrades-in-arms Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, played by Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll, will also return is still unclear.
Brand new on board now is said to be Michael Gandolfini in a previously unknown role. Gandolfini became known for his role as the young Tony Soprano in the “Sopranos” movie prequel “The Many Saints of Newark” from 2021. Most recently, he was also seen in a role in the Netflix film “The Gray Man” alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.
