Season 1 ended with a shocking revelation: Joan’s husband Ian, who supposedly died in Spain, was actually murdered in Australia by a mysterious enemy from Jack’s past. Joan finally learned the truth about Ian’s secret life and his involvement in a drug smuggling ring. Jack, meanwhile, faced his own demons and decided to stay with Joan and help her find closure.

Season 2 will pick up where season 1 left off, with Joan and Jack continuing their journey across the northern territory of Australia. Along the way, they will encounter new mysteries, dangers and surprises, as well as old friends and foes. They will also deepen their bond and explore their feelings for each other, while dealing with the consequences of their actions.

The main cast of season 1 will return for season 2, including:

  • Bryan Brown as Jack Darby, a retired Australian policeman with a dog named Diesel as his only companion.
  • Greta Scacchi as Joan Kirkhope, a widowed English nurse who travels to Australia to find out what happened to her husband.
  • Nudge and Kobe as Diesel, Jack’s loyal and smart dog who helps him solve cases.
  • Anna McGahan as Rebecca Kirkhope, Joan’s daughter who lives in Sydney and works as a journalist.
  • John Waters as Ian Kirkhope, Joan’s late husband who was secretly involved in a drug smuggling ring.
  • Casey Donovan as Sat Nav, a friendly truck driver who gives Joan and Jack a lift from time to time.
  • Jolene Anderson as Detective Inspector Liz Darby, Jack’s estranged daughter who works for the Australian Federal Police.
  • Caroline Gillmer as Denise, Jack’s ex-wife who still cares for him despite their divorce.
  • Sophia Emberson-Bain as Frida, a young Swedish backpacker who joins Joan and Jack on their journey.
  • Dane Brady as Young Ian, Ian’s younger self who appears in flashbacks.
  • Kerry Armstrong as Summer, a hippie commune leader who has a connection to Ian.
  • Heather Mitchell as Rosemary, Joan’s sister who lives in England and worries about her.
