After three feature films, the “Has Fallen” action series with Gerard Butler continues as a TV series. However, the spin-off “Paris Has Fallen” will have to do without Butler.
- Without his guardian angel Mike Banning, the US president would have died several times in an attack.
- In the new series “Paris Has Fallen,” however, it is not Banning but a French security guard who becomes the main character.
- But a fourth “Has Fallen” film is already being planned.

When the words “Has Fallen” are used, the U.S. president usually has to brace himself for an exhausting and potentially deadly time. Three times already, in “Olympus Has Fallen,” “London Has Fallen” and “Angel Has Fallen,” someone has had it in for the president’s life, but always Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) of the Secret Service was in the right place at the right time.
Actually, “Angel Has Fallen” was planned as the conclusion of the series, but since action movies with Gerard Butler and a manageable budget are surprisingly in demand, a fourth film called “Night Has Fallen” is now in the works. But not only that!
From the end of May 2023, the new series “Paris Has Fallen” will be filmed in Paris and London. In it, however, French director and actor Mathieu Kassovitz takes the lead role and must protect a French minister from an attack and a far-reaching complete as a security guard.
Since Butler’s own production company, G-Base, is co-producing the series, it could be that Butler will reprise the role of Mike Banning, at least in a guest appearance. Otherwise, of course, the series will have little to do with the films, except for the renewed mix of action and political thriller.
