Glamorous: Release Date
The trailer for the series is somewhat reminiscent of “A Devil Wears Prada”. Kim Catrall plays the badass beauty boss Madolyn Addison, who takes her protégé Marco under her wing. She makes it clear to the makeup fan that the job doesn’t just involve glitter and glamour, but also hard work.
“Glamorous” is about the young queer Marco Mejia, who does not define himself by gender. Marco’s life is at a standstill and doesn’t really seem to be moving forward until he lands a job with makeup legend Madolyn Addison. Through his new job, he finally gets a chance to figure out what he wants to do with his life. He also realizes what it means to be queer in the first place.
The main role in “Glamorous” is embodied by YouTube personality Ben J. Pierce (“Love, Victor”) aka Miss Benny. Miss Benny plays queer Marco Mejia alongside “Sex and the City” star Kim Cattrall as Madolyn Addison.
Other roles include Zane Phillips (“Legacies”) as Chad, Jade Payton (“The Denver Clan”) as Venetia, Michael Hsu Rosen (“Pretty Smart”) as Ben, Ayesha Harris (“Daisy Jones & The Six”) as Britt and Graham Parkhurst (“The Umbrella Academy“) as Parker.
The script for “Glamorous” was written by Jordon Nardino (“Star Trek: Discovery”). The CBS Television Studios production for Netflix was directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson (“Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin”). Executive producing the series were Damon Wayans Jr. (“Happy Endings”) and Kameron Tarlow (“Crowded”) of Two Shakes Entertainment.
