Firefly Lane Season 2 Release Date: When will season 2 start?

The extension of the series does not really surprise us, because already in advance several reasons spoke for a continuation of “Firefly Lane”. On the one hand, there was the success of the series, which seemed to have met with a large number of fans among the audience of the streaming service. At the very least, season 1 already placed at the top of the Netflix series top 10 just a few days after its release.
Furthermore, the series’ novel offers more material to fill new episodes. And after the end of the first season, which left viewers with several cliffhangers, the production team also seemed to have planned the Firefly Lane Season 2.
In an interview with “Entertainment Weekly,” showrunner Maggie Friedman spoke about the future of the series and said that a second season would retain the previous structure with relatively many time jumps. The high school years of the two friends would also play a central role in upcoming episodes.
Johnny actor Ben Lawson also told “JustJared,” “I don’t know what Netflix is worried about, but I hope they’re as excited about Firefly Lane Season 2 as we all are.”
Then in March 2022, good news came from lead actress Katherine Heigl on Instagram: “We’re just a few weeks away from the conclusion of season 2!”
On an exact start date for the 2nd season of “Firefly Lane” one has not yet committed to Netflix meanwhile. Only 2022 was announced as the start year.
Firefly Lane Season 2 Plot: What happens in season 2?
The end of the first season left viewers with several unanswered questions. Of course, the most pressing of these is why Kate and Tully fell out. That Firefly Lane Season 2 will deal with this question seems obvious.
A look at the novel promises a more detailed insight into the upcoming plot. There we not only learn that the reason for the broken friendship is to be found in a failed attempt by Tully to reconcile Kate and her daughter.
We also find out that the two will not meet again for years. Kate, however, is dying at the time due to breast cancer. The two then find each other again in Kate’s final months.

Firefly Lane Season 2 Cast: Who is starring in season 2?
The two central characters, Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke), will almost certainly appear again in the 2nd season. We also don’t rule out a reunion with their younger versions (Ali Skovbye and Roan Curtis).
Whether there will be a reunion with Kate’s ex-boyfriend Johnny Ryan (Ben Lawson), he was the victim of an explosion at the end of the first season. Whether Ryan survived remains unclear at the end of season 1.
