A new semester has begun at Hillerska boarding school, bringing with it plenty of drama. Will Young Royals season 3 continue?
The vacations are over, but for Prince William (Edvin Ryding), Simon (Omar Rudberg) and their classmates, stirring romances, nasty intrigues and shocking secrets are mainly on the schedule. While some find themselves caught between friendship and betrayal, others search for a way to reconcile their feelings with the duties and expectations of their families. The audience, on the other hand, is just looking for the answer to the question about Young Royals season 3.
Will there be Young Royals season 3?
So far, Netflix has not commented on whether “Young Royals” will be given another sequel. However, if the second season is just as popular with the public as season 1, there should be nothing standing in the way of further new episodes. In the summer of 2021, the coming-of-age series took the Netflix top 10 of 35 countries by storm, and the current season is likely to provide further momentum (via FlixPatrol). In addition, Netflix has already laid the foundation for Young Royals season 3 with the moving cliffhanger at the end of the second season. So fans can look to the future with hope. But if you want to be on the safe side, you should stream the series diligently on Netflix and recommend it to others.
You can find out here which new series are coming to Netflix in November in addition to “Young Royals”:
When does Young Royals season 3 start on Netflix?
Since it is not yet known whether Netflix will give the green light for season 3, we can only speculate about a possible start date for new episodes. Usually, however, the streaming giant lets about a year pass before releasing a sequel. There were almost 16 months between “Young Royals” season 1 and 2, but the delay can be attributed to stricter Corona measures during filming (via Digital Spy). Netflix should therefore be able to return to the original rhythm, which is why we expect the third season in fall/winter 2023.
What will happen next?
- Warning: spoilers for “Young Royals” season 2 follow -.
If Netflix gives the go ahead for Young Royals Season 3, the sequel will probably pick up where the second season left us. As a reminder, after a roller coaster ride of emotions and constant emotional ups and downs, Simon is ready to keep his relationship with Wilhelm a secret from the public, provided there are no more secrets between them. But at the welcome speech at the prestigious Hillerska, Wille takes heart, criticizes tradition and stagnation, and admits to his family, the school, and the press that he was indeed the person in the sex tape.
In doing so, he not only publicly admits his relationship with Simon, but is also the first crown prince to come out as homosexual. While this makes Simon happy, Wilhelm’s family is horrified. The presence of the press already suggests that the speech will be followed by major headlines that are anything but friendly to the royal family. Accordingly, Wilhelm will have to brace himself for drastic consequences. Will his family disinherit him? Will they try to sabotage the relationship? And what role does August (Malte Gårdinger) play in all this?
After all, Sara (Frida Argento) promises her brother to bring the truth to light, whereupon she calls the police to report a crime. Will she actually reveal that August released the video? Or is she secretly knitting a plan to satisfy both sides? Only Young Royals Season 3 can tell us….
Young Royals Season 3 Cast: Who’s in it?
It is not yet known which cast members we would see again in a possible third season, but the end of the second season already gives first hints. The last word between Wilhelm, Simon and August has definitely not been spoken yet, which is why Edvin Ryding, Omar Rudberg and Malte Gårdinger are likely to remain with us. Frida Argento will also presumably slip back into the role of Sara. Who else would return to the set remains to be seen.
