US channel HBO is giving the sci-fi series “Westworld” a 4th season. Now actor James Marsden revealed more about the plot of the new episodes of Westworld Season 4 in an interview.

Westworld Season 4: Release Date

“Westworld” will return to HBO with Season 4. The release date of the Westworld Season 4 is already known. The new episodes will be released on HBO on June 26, 2022. More details about the plot were revealed by actor James Marsden in an interview.

Westworld Season 4: Trailer and Pictures

HBO just released a new trailer. Among other things, it shows the resurrected Dolores (Evan Rachel Woods), who seems to have no memory of her early life, but is still tormented by it.

The first trailer for the new episodes has already been released in May 2022. Also in the new episodes it gets bloody again.

In addition, the station has already released a set video for season 4, which shows the return of fan favorite Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood). In addition, the futuristic, self-driving car from season 3 is now also available in white:

Westworld Season 4: Cast

In “Westworld” Season 4, James Marsden (“Dead to Me”) returns as Teddy Flood. This was announced by US broadcasters HBO and Marsden at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas. Teddy died in the penultimate episode of Season 2 when he pointed a gun at himself after Dolores changed his programming and turned him into a “monster.”

In addition, Aurora Perrineau (“Prodigal Son”) was confirmed for the new episodes. The actress will play an important, recurring role and will be involved in at least five episodes. Information about her role has not yet been published.

The cast of “Westworld” is always a difficult question, as there is no official information about the cast of the series. Anthony Hopkins’ character died at the end of the first season, but the actor returned in season 2 in flashback. So the option to return as a host always leaves a back door open for the actors to return.

Dolores Abernathy, the role of Evan Rachel Wood, died shockingly in the finale of the third season and it was made clear by officials once again that “this” Dolores Abernathy was dead! Nevertheless, Evan Rachel Wood will return in the fourth season. Wood will be resurrected as a character named Christina. Other actors who are likely to return:

  • Thandiwe Newton as Maeve Millay
  • Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe
  • Tessa Thompson as Charlotte Hale
  • Ed Harris as William / The Man in Black
  • Luke Hemsworth as Ashley Stubbs
  • Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore
  • Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton
  • Aaron Paul as Caleb Nichols

In an interview with the US magazine Entertainment Weekly, James Marsden revealed more about the plot of the upcoming season.

“The topics of research into human violence and similar things will continue. And in this season, we might explore what the world looks like after Dolores frees the humans and the robots. Will they cooperate or will they fight for control? What happens when they vie for control? Will the hosts inherit this urge for violence? These are some of the fundamental things that we continue to explore in this series.”

What’s next for Bernard in “Westworld” Season 4?

At the end of the third season of “Westworld”, Bernard returned from the Sublime and was completely shrouded in dust. Fans suspect that the scene takes place in a distant, possibly dystopian, future. Showrunner Jonathan Nolan seems to confirm this.

It stands to reason that with Jeffrey [Wright’s character] a lot of has happened and some time has passed.

Wright himself posted a picture of his set caravan on social media with the name of his role “Bernard” on it. His caption reads: “Good morning… old friend”. This is a nod to Anthony Hopkins’ role as Robert Ford. Is he announcing a possible return of Hopkins?

In any case, Bernard is still part of the current conflicts and tries to solve all the problems. The fighting will continue and Bernard is obviously right in the middle of it.

Westworld Story: This role is played by the Man in Black in Season 4

The role of William appears twice in “Westworld”. Young William is played by Jimmi Simpson, while the older William, also known as the Man in Black, is played by Oscar-nominated character actor Ed Harris. The role went through a lot over the course of the first three seasons and went from being a person to a host who killed him.

As it seems, however, we will still see some of Ed Harris and the Man in Black in Season 4. As a nasty antagonist, the character delivers a lot of potential!

Jonathan Nolan had already scattered some clues when he talked about the third season. So it should come in season 4 to the big climax between the hosts and the people.

I think it’s a radical shift. What’s so captivating and appealing about these characters is that they’re not human. We mention it in the series, people are tied to the same cycles as the hosts, in some areas even more narrow-minded.

Westworld showrunner Jonathan Nolan

Natural selection, who is superior to whom? “You can’t expect human characters to stay in our plot and survive. The hosts have a different kind of mortality, different prospects.” So you can look forward to the new episodes.

“Westworld” will receive a total of 6 seasons!

According to sources of the US magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”, the series will consist of a total of six seasons. So far, however, only the fourth season of “Westworld” is contractually regulated.
