Peripheral is being extended for a second season. We will reveals what is known so far about the new episodes of Peripheral season 2 that tell story about science fiction from Amazon Prime Video.
- Amazon’s science fiction series Peripheral is getting a 2nd season.
- The series is based on the novel of the same name by author William Gibson and tells a dystopian vision of the future.
- After the big twist at the end of the first season, the new episodes could adapt the author’s second novel.
The dark games of the future continue. Despite the solid start of the science fiction series “Peripherie” in October 2022, its continuation was initially uncertain. Now fans can breathe a sigh of relief, because Amazon Prime Video has now extended the show by “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy for a 2nd season.
Peripheral Season 2: Release Date
The renewal of “Peripheral” was just announced, for this reason there is no start date yet. However, we assume that filming for the new episodes could begin in the summer/fall of 2023. This means that the 2nd season could await us in the spring of 2024.
Peripheral Season 2: Plot
The first season of “Peripheral” ended with a great twist. In it, Flynne takes drastic measures to ensure the safety of her timeline. If the series continues to follow the novels of author William Gibson, then season 2 will adapt elements from the second book of the “Jackpot” trilogy.
Volume 2 “Agency” is set in the same world as “Peripheral” and tells the story of Verity Jane, who tests the artificial intelligence “Eunice” for a shady company. But it soon turns out that Eunice is the product of a military research project. Verity tries to get back the acquired knowledge of the AI, but Eunice suddenly cannot be reached anymore.
Peripheral Season 2: Cast
Nothing is known yet about the cast of the second season of “Peripheral”. Since the first season ends relatively open, lead actress Chloe Grace Moretz (“Kick-Ass”) could return as Flynne Fisher. However, if the second season is based on the second volume of author William Gibson’s “Jackpot Trilogy,” we may be in for a new leading lady. It could also be that the world will be expanded and two protagonists await us.

“Peripheral” is based on the “Jackpot Trilogy” by author William Gibson. The series is produced by Amazon Studios and the production company “Westworld” creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Kliter Films. Showrunner is writer Scott B. Smith (“A Simple Plan”).
