Most recently, fans could still rejoice, because the series about the charismatic Raymond “Red” Reddington was officially extended by the US channel NBC for a 10 season. On May 27, 2022, the big season finale of “The Blacklist” season 9 was aired and after the episode there was the sad certainty for the viewers that two characters will no longer be part of the new season.

The technical genius, who was an integral part of the team for all nine seasons so far, confessed his grave decision at Liz Keen’s grave. Surrounded by his loyal comrades-in-arms, he explained that after careful consideration he decided to step down from the job and take time for himself.

The Blacklist Season 10: Storyline

Two years after the death of Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) and the disbanding of the FBI task force, season 9 saw the lives of the former task force members and that of Raymond Reddington completely turned upside down.

Most recently, the team members revived their original mission and they pursued the Blacklist criminals to eliminate them for good. However, after the finale of the 9th season, Red in particular is facing a difficult time because thanks to Marvin Gerard, his position as an FBI informant became public knowledge. This juicy information will be anything but pleasant for a few members of the Blacklist, who may want to take revenge.

Also, the series departure of two long-time characters will affect the plot of the new season. Now Red and the task force team will have to regroup.

As reported by the US magazine TVLine, the upcoming 10th season will introduce MI6 intelligence officer Siya Malik. What makes this character special is that she is the daughter of Meera Malik.

Played by actress Parminder Nagra, Meera Malik was featured in almost the entire 1st season of The Blacklist. She was a CIA agent and was brought to the FBI to help in the Reddington case. In the finale, however, she was ambushed and murdered in cold blood by an assassin.

It could be that Siya is now following in her mother’s footsteps to find out more about her work and the circumstances that led to Meera’s tragic death. So far, it has not been announced who will take on the role of Meera Malik’s daughter. However, we are already excited to see if Siya Malik will be able to fill the void left by Alina Park (Laura Sohn) and Aram Mojtabai (Amir Arison).
