Are you ready for another season of Shakespeare and Hathaway, the hilarious and thrilling crime drama set in Stratford-upon-Avon? Of course you are! Who wouldn’t want to watch more adventures of the oddball duo of private investigators, Luella Shakespeare and Frank Hathaway, as they solve mysteries with the help of their quirky assistant, Sebastian Brudenell? Well, you’re in luck, because we have all the latest news and gossip about Shakespeare and Hathaway Season 5. Read on to find out everything we know so far!

Shakespeare and Hathaway Season 5 Plot: What’s next?

The fourth season of Shakespeare and Hathaway ended with a bang, literally. A bomb exploded at the Mucky Mallard pub, where Frank and Luella were celebrating their anniversary. The blast left them injured and unconscious, while Sebastian was nowhere to be found. Who was behind this attack? Was it one of their many enemies, or someone closer to home? And what will happen to their relationship, which was already on shaky ground after Frank’s ex-wife Genevieve showed up?

The fifth season will hopefully answer these questions and more, as we follow the aftermath of the explosion and its impact on our beloved characters. Will Frank and Luella survive and recover from their injuries? Will they be able to work together again, or will they go their separate ways? Will Sebastian return to help them, or has he betrayed them? And what new cases will they take on in the picturesque town of Stratford-upon-Avon, where nothing is as it seems?

Assuming that Frank and Luella don’t die (which would be a very bad move by the writers), we can expect Mark Benton and Jo Joyner to reprise their roles as the titular detectives. Patrick Walshe McBride should also return as Sebastian Brudenell, unless he turns out to be the mastermind behind the bombing (which would be a very shocking twist).

Other recurring cast members who might appear in the fifth season include Tomos Eames as DS Joe Keeler, Yasmin Kaur Barn as PC Viola Deacon, Roberta Taylor as Gloria Fonteyn, Darren Evans as Spider, Asheq Akhtar as Ajay Matharu, Julia Deakin as Genevieve Shakespeare, Ciaran Griffiths as Billy ‘The Brick’ Porter, and Amber Aga as DI Marlowe.

We can also expect some new faces to join the cast, either as guest stars or regulars. Maybe some famous actors who have played Shakespearean roles on stage or screen will make an appearance, as a nod to the show’s literary inspiration. Or maybe some celebrities who are fans of the show will cameo as themselves, as a treat for the viewers.

Will there be Shakespeare and Hathaway Season 5?

That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? Well, sadly nothing has been confirmed yet by the BBC or the show’s creators. The fourth season was filmed in 2021 under strict COVID-19 protocols, which might have affected its budget and schedule. The ratings for the fourth season were also not very impressive, averaging around 1.2 million viewers per episode.

However, there is still hope for a fifth season, as the show has a loyal fan base and a positive critical reception. The show’s creators have also expressed their interest in continuing the story and exploring new possibilities for the characters. In an interview with Entertainment Daily UK, co-creator Paul Matthew Thompson said: “We’ve got lots of ideas for series five if we get recommissioned.”

So, fingers crossed that we get some good news soon!

If Shakespeare and Hathaway does get renewed for a fifth season, when can we expect it to air? Well, that’s hard to say, given the uncertainty of the pandemic situation and the production challenges it poses. The previous seasons have aired in February or March of each year, except for the fourth season which was delayed until February 2022 due to COVID-19.

So, if we follow that pattern, we might see the fifth season in February or March 2024 at the earliest. But that’s just a guess, and things could change depending on various factors. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything official!

Shakespeare and Hathaway Season 5 Trailer: Is there a teaser?

Since the fifth season has not been confirmed yet, there is no trailer or teaser available for it. But don’t worry, we’ll let you know as soon as one drops!
