The popular “National Treasure” films’ setting is the same for the Disney+ action-adventure series “National Treasure: Edge of History,” although the main cast is significantly younger. This time, a young DACA woman called Jess is the main treasure hunter, and she is concentrating for a Pan-American treasure that symbolizes the combined wealth of many Meso-American tribes (Lisette Olivera). In episode 10, Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Hendricks/Salazar, and the others must be guided to the treasure by Jess and her father as her friends try to catch up with them. The information below will tell you everything you need to know about how the first season finale of “National Treasure: Edge of History” ended.

Beware spoilers.

National Treasure: Edge of History Episode 10 Recap

National Treasure: Edge of History Finale Recap and Ending Explained

The climax picks up where the penultimate episode leaves off. Lyndon Smith’s portrayal of Agent Ross (who appears to be dead) is laying on the dock. Hendricks has always gone by the name Salazar, therefore Rafael is aware that Hendricks is Salazar. Rafael tries to tell Billie that Salazar killed her brother Sebastian once more, but when Rafael is accused of misrepresenting the events, Salazar interrupts and orders his staff to leave.

When Ethan, Liam, Tasha, and Oren show up, Billie and Salazar had only left two thugs behind. As they decide how to deal with those two, one of the thugs is able to sneak up behind Liam and the others and hold them at gunpoint with the help of his buddy. Ross abruptly awakens and shoots both men once to death. Realizing they must part, Oren and Tasha load Ross into the back of their vehicle and drive to the nearest hospital, leaving Liam and Ethan to take a boat across the swamp.

As they approach a thick fog up ahead, Rafael tells Billie and Salazar that the fog is a part of the legend surrounding the treasure. Ethan uses the boy scout skills he acquired to lead Liam and Ethan through the fog when they arrive. As the first group approaches the treasure, they encounter their first trap. Because they are unable to see it for what it is, Billie’s people dive right in. Kacey is harmed, and the majority of them are dead. Later, Salazar kills Kacey after declaring her a liability. Billie then realizes that Rafael had been telling the truth all along and shoots Hendricks, thereby changing into the new Salazar.

Oren and Tasha must act fast to get Ross to a hospital. The emergency services are far away, and they are unaware of their precise location in the marsh, so their chances of saving Ross are fading. Fortunately, Zeke calls Ross to ask if anything has changed. Knowing what happened, he calls Tasha with instructions, and she succeeds in saving Ross’ life. Ross is given to the EMTs, and Tasha and Oren decide to go back and locate their friends.

National Treasure: Edge of History Ending: The Pan-American Treasure—is it discovered?

When Hendricks claims Rafael and Jess are the good guys, Rafael and Jess realize the bearded man they met earlier was right when he claimed that Cras est nostrum (‘tomorrow is ours’). The clandestine group has been robbing people of their valuables and maintaining the status quo for years. Jess and Rafael are freed from captivity after laying the first trap. Rafael and Jess, however, wind up in a cage after falling victim to another trap after missing the coyote sign. They successfully divert attention from their pursuers, but Liam and Ethan recognize the trap and locate Rafael and Jess trapped beneath the cage, saving them.

When Ethan returns to lead their friends and the police to the treasure, Rafael is able to open the front door of an old building. Jess must first solve a riddle with writing from all three of the major Mesoamerican cultures—the Inca, Aztec, and Mayan—in order to access the main treasure area.

Their happiness is short-lived, though, as Billie uses explosives to blow off the door to the treasure chamber. To keep Billie under control, Jess, Liam, and Ethan—who has returned after lighting a smoke signal—work together. After spotting her father concealed beneath a tangle of mayhem, Jess is concerned that she has lost her father permanently this time. He murmurs that he thought he had dreamed about finding the treasure as he finally wakes up. When Oren, Tasha, and the police arrive, Billie is arrested.

“National Treasure: Edge of History” suggests a potential season 2 as the first season comes to an end. At the National Museum of Artifacts, where the treasure is on exhibit, Liam appears with a cassette. He informs the others that the cassette has details about the Pan-American treasure. Rafael suggests they add it to the collection, but Liam objects on the grounds that it also contains information about “something else.” Whatever it is, it will likely be discussed in the show’s next season 2.

What Does the Mid-Credits Scene Mean?

National Treasure: Edge of History Finale Recap and Ending Explained

“National Treasure: Edge of History” doesn’t always have a standard mid-credits scene. Instead, they use the individuals’ social media posts to describe what happens to each character when the treasure is discovered. In our opinion, the discovery of the treasure supports Jessica’s mother’s assessment of Malinche. Reunited and dating again are Zeke and Ross, Jess and Liam, and Tasha and Oren.

Liam’s song “Besides Me Besides You” is the most popular one. Jess gets to meet the African American female president of the United States, who is sporting a pair of Oren’s sneakers. Ethan is employed as a lawyer at the Supreme Court. When Ross receives a prize, Zeke is overjoyed. The FBI also commends Tasha and Oren for perhaps sparing Ross’ life. Tasha decides to go to the ceremony against her convictions.

Was Malinche a Daughter of the Plumed Serpent?

Jess and the others find a portrait of Malinche in the treasure chamber, providing definitive proof that Manuela was right all along. If Malinche wasn’t a Daughter of the Plumed Serpent, her portrait wouldn’t be in the treasure room. To honor these latest findings, a display at the National Museum of Artifacts is dedicated to “Malinche and the Pan-American Treasure.”
