In December 2007, Congress—in all of its brilliance (no pun intended)—decided to ban incandescent light bulbs. Starting with an initial phase-out in 2012, with a complete cull completed by 2014, Thomas Edison's wondrous invention will be no more.

At this moment the entire group of people broke into a deep, slow, rhythmic chant of 'L-T! .... L-T! .... L-T!'—over and over again, very slowly, with a long pause between the 'L' and the 'T'—a heavy murmurous sound, somehow curiously savage, while they opened the teal and white box of their new Logitech WiLife Surveillance System.

Last week, we were sent the latest innovative toy to hit shelves this year, Swinxs.

Swinxs is marketed as a “screen free game console” which is a bit hard to explain. Basically, it’s a green, tri-corner box that has a bunch of gizmos inside of it that guide kids to interact with it and each other. Up to 10 kids can play by wearing a wristband that contains an RFID chip.
