Barack Obama Wins Peace Prize, Blows Up Moon To Celebrate

By Shane Craver on October 9, 2009

Early Friday morning, it was announced by the Nobel Foundation that America's first black president, Barack Obama, has won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama earned the prize for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

The award has Washington insiders scratching their heads. Obama had been president for a mere 12 days when the Nobel nomination deadline passed. At the time, his vast international experience came from his childhood living abroad – a cause for speculation among "birthers" that Obama was not born in the United States and therefore not constitutionally qualified to be president.

The Nobel Foundation, established in 1900, has awarded controversial prizes in the past but their 90th Peace Prize award seems to be granted on ambiguous grounds.

Professor Stuart Rees, director of the Peace Foundation was puzzled by the move, "I think it's premature. . . We've all got our fingers crossed [Barack Obama] can wave his magic wand and make these things happen. Perhaps the Nobel organization wants to give him a magic wand."

As news was spreading of Obama's Peace Prize victory around a still-sleepy Washington, two NASA space vehicles were kamakazied into the moon. It was the first ever dual bombing of the moon in an attempt to confirm the theory that water lurks below the surface of the moon – as opposed to the other theory that the moon is made of cheese.

The first vehicle hit the moon this morning at 7:31 with 1.5 tons of TNT force. A second vehicle barreled into the six-kilometer wide plume of moon dust to take pictures and analyze the plume.

While Obama can celebrate his Nobel Prize this morning, he'll have to wait to cheer a successful moon bombing as NASA has yet to reveal the promised live images from the mission.

You had to throw in a birther comment, huh? Anyway, Nobel was wrong on this one and Rees hit the nail on the head.

Obama should not be rewarded for acting like a movie star, parading himself on whatever television show he can get time on. He needs to get a clue and DO HIS JOB.
Bad enough that he has views/beliefs that mirror Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.
Shouldn't we be focusing on what REALLY matters like the ECONOMY or JOBS???
What does everyone think will happen if he gets this Government controlled excuse for health care passed?
If someone is refused treatment and is dying, what are they going to have to lose? I can see people lashing back at Obama and other No-brained politicans who would be responsible for such a Nazi/socialist agenda.
We need to throw out these politicians who care about nothing but their wallet and next election.
While we are at it might as well do something with the "media" who cant seem to do anything except insert head up Osama's backside.
REALLY SAD WHEN THE NATIONAL INQUIRER HAS MORE INVESTIGATIVE NEWS than NBC,CBS,MS NBC, CNN etc.
I was told if i didn't vote for Obama that the economy would crash and we would lose thousands of jobs just as a start. Well he was right I voted McCain and all the above has since happened......

THIS JUST IN: The moon - that nocturnal inspiration to poets and lovers for centuries - was viciously attacked two hours ago by Muslim terrorist Barack Obama and his co-conspirators within THE GOVERNMENT.

A clear message has been sent by this radical jihadist to good and decent people everywhere. There is no room for misinterpretation: if they can target the moon - THE MOON! - in so ghastly an unprovoked matter, that proves - undeniably - that Main Street is not safe. Our children must be protected from the radical, hideous agenda of this man and his vile administration. Mark my words, my fellow Americans - today the moon, tomorrow Anytown, USA. OH, THE HUMANITY!

"This plan has generated a lot of outrage among people who shop at Whole Foods and grind their own coffee beans. However, there are a host of reasons we should irreversibly alter the shape of the moon with explosives, and finding water is just the easiest one to fact-check."

You are an Idiot!!! If you think the economy is getting better you must be living in China because that’s were all the job have going to. It happens every day either our jobs go to Mexico, India or China. Wake up and smell the job loss!!!!

I have lost all respect for the Nobel peace Prize. You cant just award someone because they have "plans" to help. It should be awarded to someone who carried out plans and made it happen.

dude, seriously, open whatever web browser you use, go to market watch, and look at the DJI over the past 3 months. and yes, the economy still sucks, and yes outsourcing is a problem, however, there is no need to be racist about it. if you wanna fix that problem do what obama is doing, put a tax on foreign goods (like chinese tires) and make incentivize internal production.

The moon has been "bombed" by the USA and Russia, and as of earlier this year, by other countries like China, ever since the late 50s. 2. The world economy already was going into the crapper ever since 36 hours before 9/11. This is not to say that 9/11 was known 36 hours in advance, this is to say the decline flagged it was 'the right time' for the attack. 3. It doesn't matter if you are born in the USA or not, it matters if you are born a US citizen. 4. None of these replies seem to even be related to Barack Obama receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, nor does the original author even seem to even spotlight that issue. -- Mister Keal

Mister Keal, you seem a little light on the facts. On the president, yes he or she must be physically nor in the US. Only at the time of adoption could have citizenship qualified.

See Article II Section I: No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President

On the lunar crash, yes, it's been done before. This was the first dual impact test.

On the stock market, your signal theory is bizarre. From September 2000 to January 2001, the Nasdaq was down 46%. The slide continued in earnest until September 10th. If that's your theory, the trigger would have been hard track.
